A gift from father

The boy smiled with glee as his mother handed him the wrapped package, as it was

a gift

from his father.

His father had told her, "Give this to him when you deem him old enough."

She agreed and waited until she dared not wait any longer.

He tore off the wrappings and opened the box. Carefully he lifted out the

gleaming sword

and immediately began practicing with it.

"I wish he were here so I could thank him for it."

"Yes, I know I wish he were here too, but it will be another five years before

he returns."
