Woo, ok. Hi. This wasn't meant to be a fanfic, I was inspired to write something about someone dealing with rape, but it just kind of evolved... I realized after the second verse just how much it reminded me of The Crow. So I finished the rest, and here I am. Be kind with me, I've never tried a Crow fic before... :)

"dreams"

hearts of stone
souls of dust
broken love
from penniless lust
a little girl
who will never trust
from tears too many
knobs of rust

a stormy night
cold and true
scents of chestnuts
lifted and flew
her hair, dark brown
her eyes, bright blue
whispers of her ending
of far too soon

then it came
in its power and it's might
breaking the silence
on this cold, autumn night
a broken angel's soul
too damaged to fight
that fateful eve
that took her light

the spiling of oil
the breaking of glass
echos inside her head
all spinning far too fast
they tossed her to the ground
until she screamed at last
calling down the souls of those
who took away her past

two thumps on the door
their attention drawn away
to the man who came to save her
from this silent shade of decay
but one knife to the shoulder
as he screamed out to pray
her world folded back within
the dreams of yesterday

they held his arms up to the sky
then two bangs, to the floor
she screamed as he fell to the horizon
to be with her never more
they returned their sights to her
as another slammed the door
and they stabbed and shot her, too
leaving breathless to adore

a year passed by
the turn of a moon
they had forgotten
already, so soon
little did they know
they were going to face their doom
on that same fateful night
they ripped love from its womb

he rose from his grave
with a fury in his eye
another broken soul
who had never said goodbye
he'd confront everyone of them
and everyone would lie
but his love was forever
and she was in the sky

to one he took a knife
it's silver shinning bright
the next, the heroin that caused it all
that painted peach with white
the next he burnt to tiny crisps
and set a crow to light
the last, out the window
like on that fateful night

and then he saved that little girl
who lost her broken heart
he mended her pieces into one
a mangled sort of art
and he sat the angel in her bed
and dissolved into the dark
to rejoin the reason he once lived
in a place far above their once known ark

he cried at the foot of where she lay
six feet under ground
until her soft angel whisper
turned his sight around
the words "i love you" off her lips
were the sweetest sound
as they finally were reunited
in their love forever bound

their story is not about revenge
or the touch of an angel's feather
it's not about stopping wrongs
or how much to endevor
the story of the crow is to teach
a lesson that ceases never:
as a friend of mine once told me,
real love is forever
