I do not own RWBY but it's oc

Glynda Goodwitch was having a dilemma. She could not reach neither Qrow nor team RWBY as well as their sister team. It had been a hectic time even after a year of the event popularly known as 'Fall of Beacon'. She had not been amused when she heard such thing being popular around Remnant. All the commotion along with the recovery of Vale had made her tired and she could not keep her eye on Ruby.

She closed her eyes and reminiscenced the time she had first arrived to this place called Vale. She was all alone, young and completely unaware of the common sense of this place until a certain silver eyed girl brought her in her home and taught her. That silver eyed girl was Summer and she was like a big sister despite Glynda being years older. Summer completly idolized Huntsman and huntresses so much that it still amused her to this day. Let's say her... fanatism was even more fanatical than Ruby's. There Glynda learned about Aura, semblance and creatures of Grimm much to the astonishment of Summer.

Glynda remembered her last word or let's say her promise to Summer when Summer departed for her mission that had gone wrong.

"Please promise me that you will look after Ruby if something ever happened to me."

"Summer, you keep asking me the same thing before you depart for every mission."

"Heh so do I." Summer chuckled, "But even so, a single factor may cause my mission to go wrong and I am not taking any chances. You are the only person who I can trust."

"Well you are married already. So why not ask you husband instead of me? It's his duty after all."

"Well let's say Tai has still not recovered from the emotional wreck happened years ago so if something happens to me I... hope he will not completely shut down."

"Why me though? You know I will completely shut down as well if you ever..."

Words could not be said but she knew Summer knew what she was going to say.

"Even though we kept our relation of being 'adopted sisters but not legally' from others though I think Qrow is the only one who suspects it. But why me?"

"Why? It's because I trust you... I was also completely alone when Grimm wiped my village and I started doing errands when I first came to Vale. I was completely alone. Then after a while I met you Glynda and you have been helping me all this time like a sister that I started to view you as my own family. After Ozpin revealed to us about the secrets of this world that it has been hard to ever trust anybody completely. Even though you and my team are the only one that I trust. And then Raven happened and it hurt Tai, Qrow and me. All of us was scarred in some ways or another. There are still many other reasons like teaching me how to cook cookies which Ruby and Yang absolutely love. Gifting me this lovely white cloak before attending to Beacon. You have no idea how much you have helped me... no us..."

"Well I suppose I can look after but PROMISE ME, Mrs. Rose that you will come back safe and sound otherwise I WILL DRAG YOU BACK."

"Aye aye dear 'not legally sis of mine' I swear on my cookies and my children that I promise to be back before you say cookies."

"... C-oo-kies"

Before Glynda could completely say cookies Summer was gone in a flash of white rose petals.

Now a month later Glynda stood over a cliff of Patch in a black dress. In front of her was a cold white gravestone which read 'Summer Rose : Thus kindly I scatter' She promised herself that she would remain strong but she felt her heart crumbling. She did not attend the ceremony. She could not. She was the Witch of Beacon. She could not be seen crying but even once in a while she left her stoic mask, a facade, and openly wept on the gravestone after she hid near the sea of trees and the ceremony ended.

"You promised...me. Why!?"

Glynda had lost her mother in that 'place'. The place she promised to never return. Summer was like a family to her. Just like Tai had shut down emotionally, she too did. In fact every faculty member at Beacon could tell that the ever stoic and serious Glynda, a young combat teacher assistant, was somehow dead inside. Even Ozpin did not know the relationship between the two and was alarmed at the situation. And few months later she heard from Qrow that Yang and Ruby were nearly killed in an incident.

"Promise me Glynda... that you will look after Ruby..."

Then she slapped herself on her cheeks for almost breaking her promise. Her mother had told her to never break a promise once taken. Then she forced Qrow to tell every detail of the incident. She was not amused when Yang had learned about her true mother and made a foolish decision of going to meet her. She was angry when she heard Yang dragged Ruby into this mess. She cared nothing for the blonde girl. In fact she was practically seething in rage when she found that it was Qrow's fault for leaving the photo. She challenged Qrow then and there and literally decimated him. The students of Beacon could tell that someone had made the witch of Beacon truly mad by the shaking of the whole academy.

Glynda took her job seriously at Beacon despite the Ironwood practically begged her, his girlfriend, to go with him to Atlas. Glynda in fact loved him but she always hated those people of the military. She broke up with him despite loving him. She then for many years worked hard at Beacon where she could keep an eye on Ruby as well as her work as a part of the Inner Circle. She later became the deputy headmistress of Beacon and the 'right hand man' of Ozpin. She was feared as one of the strongest huntresses alive.

One night when she and Ozpin were arriving to the police station to address a complain of a certain blonde brawler destroying a club when she heard gunshots. She looked at Ozpin who gave his permission to leave and practically leapt over buildings to get towards the source of the shots. There she saw Ruby and...Roman Torchwick was it? Roman was in the bullhead when he threw the dust crystal at Ruby while igniting it.

At the nick of time she saved Ruby and proceeded to battle with the mysterious assailant in red dress. After the battle, Ruby was admitted to Beacon and long story short, at the present time she was missing. Glynda was worried sick about Ruby.

She could believe about beings immortal because she came from that 'place'. She sighed and wondered whether she could go back to that place and beg him for his assistance.

It is easier to leave this place than to return. Make your choice girl. If you ever leave and bothered to come back again remember that you will face situation worse than death itself.

Glynda still remembered the threat 'He' made that day when she left his domain. But even after more than twenty years, she had no idea how she could even return and ask for his assistance. She then turned the TV to news section.

"This is VNN and we are bringing you the weather anamoly detected West of Solitas. The 'Hurricane of the land', an event that happens every once in twenty to thirty years is seen to have started to form. Scientists at Atlas are still baffled at the appearance of this mysterious occurrence that happened since the start of the Great War as they have no idea how it forms though many scientific as well as superstitious speculations have been made. This hurricane is said to cover 1/5th of Solitas and entire western region of Solitas. Wind speed upto 500km/hr have made it impossible for anything to cross even its outer region. Though through a use of semblance found its appearance similar to that of a hurricane and the temperature of its eye at absolute zero. Many refugees have begun migrating to other parts of Solitas with the help of Altas military. Is there any explanation why this event even occurs in the first place? This is Lisa Lavender now bringing in the sport section... "

Well if there is a will there is a way. This saying was not wrongly said. She grabbed her scroll and called Oobleck

" Pro-.. Dr. Oobleck. May I ask for you to arrive in my office as soon as possible."

"Hmm...is something wrong. I will try to arrive asap."

"Please bring in Professor Port as well."

"I will."

The line got cut and Glynda started to prepare her winter clothes. She packed her bags and draped herself in purple cloak when she heard the knock on the door.

"Come in."

Then she saw a thin man with spiky green hair with round glasses arrive with an old pot bellied fat man with huge mustache and eye brows which seemed to cover his eyes. They wore their usual dresses they wore during their days as teachers.

"Is something wrong Professor Glynda?" asked Oobleck in slow pace than he used to.

"I need to make a trip to western Solitas. I need you to supervise the Vale rebuilding project for a while in my absence." Glynda replied.

"Are you out of your mind Glynda!! That's where the biggest anamoly storm is forming. In there even if Grimm so much as touches the fast flowing wind they get shredded. Even with the help of your semblance it's too much, leviathan class grimm are found to be frozen rock solid. Your chances of survival are minimum to nil at best." said Oobleck in a fast manner

"Oobleck is correct Glynda. You are a calm and collected person. We need you here because people rely on you. Glynda, the witch of Beacon, is all the moral support the citizen of Vale has. If something happened to you then the anxiety and all the stress and negative emotions the citizens of Vale has bottled up since last year can explode and we know it's consequences." Port replied seriously.

"Yes I know I am risking a lot but even then I must make this trip, otherwise I need to wait for almost 30 years then." Glynda said resolutely.

Seeing Glynda like this made them sigh. They looked at each other and Oobleck replied.

"I don't know Glynda, we can cover for you for only about a week to two at best. It's best to arrive before then."

"I will try."

By saying this much she went to her private Bullhead and packed food and supplies she needed.

Then she turned on the engine and steered the bullhead towards the west Solitas at the best speed she could muster out of the bullhead. She promised herself that she would never go back. Now she had to break her own promise. How hypocritical but for the daughter of her sister she would dive in the abyss if needed. For the first time Glynda was going back to her...

"Home..."
