A Marauder's Story: James / Prongs

[ Author's Note: This story is about James' life in general, and I'm pretty happy with it. It's good. I'm going to do the Marauder's story for Sirius, Remus, Peter, Lily, Arabella, and Tara. *It would be a good idea to read this after reading the Lily+MWPP=Forever fic* Anywayz, read and review, constructive criticism accepted. Thanks! *This one is from Remus' point of view*]

Remus Lupin sat at his desk in his office, thinking. The past few days had been very nostalgic for him. Coming back to Hogwarts, this time as a teacher. Rediscovering all the little things that had made life so pleasant when he was a student. He sighed. Meeting Harry had aroused memories of James again. James and the Marauders. They had been very popular. Almost...almost like a legend.

Remus got up, went to his closet, and reached beyond the black robes. His fingers closed around a box, and he drew it out, slowly. All his possessions were old looking and frayed, but not this box. He had tended it with care. He opened the tiny gold catch, his fingers rustling against the soft purple velvet. He took out a photo of James, Lily, and Harry as a baby. They looked so good together. Lily, with her striking red hair and green eyes, James with his messy hair and brown eyes, and Harry, eyes closed, sleeping in Lily's arms. Undoubtedly, this was his most treasured possession. His thoughts drifted away to his years at Hogwarts, as a student, as a Marauder.

James had always been a prankster. He and Sirius were the most widely known pranksters in the school, and for some people, the most dreaded too. He terrified the teachers by cursing Severus, and then amazed them by getting the top marks in the exams. It had been his idea to become Animagi, for which Remus was forever grateful. He was Head Boy, a very different Head Boy, a born Quidditch player, and constantly had girls drooling over him. James and Sirius.

James and Lily were together for so long, that the marriage was not unexpected. James had proposed on the platform at Hogsmeade, while leaving at the end of their seventh year. All the teachers, including Dumbledore, were present. And when she accepted, he had celebrated with Jinxed Jellies. Just like James, to have the last laugh.

When Harry was born, James had shown his paternal instinct, cooing over Harry. When Voldemort had attacked, James had shown his bravery, like a true Gryffindor. He was never one to give up, James. He fought till the end. Just like James.

Remus shook out of his reverie. He missed James, and the life of the Marauders. Well, the past was the past. He couldn't change that. He looked at the photo once more. Lily and James, now angels, were gazing fondly at Harry. Then James glanced up at Remus, and winked, smiling. He turned, whispered something to Lily, who smiled at him, her lovely green eyes sparkling. He sighed. There was a knock at the door. He was confused for a minute. Who could it be? Then he remembered. It was Harry, for his Patronus session. He hurriedly put the photo back in the box, back in his closet. Harry entered, with a determined look on his face. Just like James.

[Whoohoo! Yes, I know that was short, but it was meant to be. I never intended for it to be very long. Review please!]
