A/N: So! This is my first story! It's only a one-shot, yes, but still.
So this is about Cyrus, the leader of Team Galactic, in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Enjoy!

"What?!?"

"I said we're not going to attack Sunyshore, Saturn. Must I spell it out for you?"

Saturn looked at his superior in disbelief.

"But Cyrus, sir, Sunyshore's solar cell-based energy supply is the perfect utility for our missio—"

"I said no and I mean no," said Cyrus, with his trademark lack of emotion.

Saturn could only fume silently at his leader's apparent ignorance. The Team Galactic Commander walked out of Cyrus's office, cursing under his breath.

Cyrus had never turned down the opportunity to attack a Sinnohian city before. His, and the rest of Team Galactic's motto was that everything was made for them, his to control.

Cyrus had grown up a rather hopeless child, denying human company preferring that of machines and robots. He never showed emotion of any kind, be it at school, at home, or anywhere else. He did this presumably so as not to develop emotional attachment to anyone, particularly the residents of his hometown, Sunyshore City. Cyrus saw emotions as a product of a weak human heart.

It had been his plan to capture a Pokémon called Dialga, the Temporal Pokémon, by first abducting the three Lake mirage Pokémon, Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf, in order to weaken Dialga. He theorized that Dialga's power could be used to turn back time, temporarily removing himself from the time-stream, then reinserting himself at the point of the universe's creation. He would then force the Alpha Pokémon, Arceus, to make the universe in his own image.

At this point in time, Cyrus's Eterna City branch had been disbanded by a 10 year old boy named Lucas, and Cyrus had been acting rather strangely (even for him) ever since he heard the news:

"Sir, I just got word that a boy disbanded our Eterna division," said one of the generic Team Galactic grunts.

"Hmm… what do we know about this boy?" asked Cyrus.

"Well, he's about 10 years old, he resides in Twinleaf Town, his first Pokémon was a Chimchar…"

Cyrus had spaced out since the words "Twinleaf Town," and had been frozen in thought.

"Twinleaf Town? … That's the town closest to Lake Ve—" Cyrus stopped mid-sentence.

"… problem, sir?"

"(Hmm… Mesprit takes shelter at Lake Verity… Perhaps… this boy is somewhat of a divine messenger of the… Emotion… Pokémon…) No, no problem. Dismissed."

Cyrus remembered that he needed to make a phone call. He picked up the receiver on his desk and dialed a number.

"… yes, this is Cyrus. Block any and all traffic, Team Galactic or otherwise, to Sunyshore City. I don't want them to have any involvement whatsoever with the mission… I don't care, just make up some excuse. Cite local news or something. Thank you." He hung up the phone.

(Thank you, Mesprit, for pointing out to me the error I was about to make… I'm almost… ALMOST sorry I captured you now. But sorrow is an emotion, and emotion is for the weak… isn't it?)

End

A/N: So…. That's the end! Boy was that short! But at least I had fun writing it and you (damn well better have) had fun reading it!
And if the ending doesn't make sense to you, don't worry. It hardly makes sense to ME, and I WROTE the damn thing. Anyways, review please! X3
