The young hunter discovered that she was in love for the first time shortly after the battle against Kronos's army. Before than she had sworn off the thought of love towards anybody. After all that was what Artemis's Hunters where supposed to do.

"Dear Gods she is beautiful" Thalia Grace thought in awe. All of the huntresses where good-looking, but Tia… She was absolutely stunning. The way her long hair flowed down her back like an ebony waterfall, the way her blue eyes shone brighter than the sun itself. But she was a maiden of Artemis and love was forbidden. And nobody wants to make Artemis angry. So she resisted temptation. At least for the time being.

Her love was responded to for the first time, when Tia read her diary. She had never kept one before she became immortal, but when you can live forever it doesn't seem like such a waste of time.

"Not all love is forbidden" Tia said quietly, resting her hand tenderly on Thalia's cheek. The gesture sent a pleasant shock through Thalia's body.

"I thought I was the only one who could do that" Thalia mused under her breath.

"Come again?"

"Oh… nothing"

"The oath says 'I turn my back on the company of men'. Last time I checked, you where not a man" Than she kissed Thalia lightly on the lips. It was the first time either of them had kissed anybody. But they had never imagined they would do so under such strange circumstances. And they never dreamed that they would enjoy kissing another girl

They had been romantically involved for about a month when Artemis found out. She caught them kissing and they where forced to explain what was going on.

A look of genuine incredulity crossed Artemis's face and she seemed to freeze up for a minute. "I don't see anything wrong with this relationship. It is certainly different, but not against the oath" And she walked away, still looking quite confused.

Tia had known about Thalia's past for a long time before Tia had dared to share anything about her own. But there relationship was based off honesty and Tia felt obliged to share as much as Thalia had.

"I think that I should tell you why I became a Hunter," Tia started slowly. "It's not that big of a deal really… some stuff just happened when I was younger. I owe Artemis more than anyone else."

"What happened?" Thalia asked, her blue eyes shining with curiosity and concern.

"I lived on the streets because I had trouble with my family, and some guys came up to me… they beat me up and I could tell they wanted to do more. But I got away and Artemis found me. I was in pretty bad shape, but she healed me and offered me this life. It was the best thing that has ever happened to me."

Thalia didn't say anything. She just pulled Tia closer to her body and kissed her passionately. She knew there was a lot more to the story, but she didn't care. All that mattered at that moment was the kiss that they where sharing… and the fact that they both needed to breath eventually.
