"By Your Side"
Harry/Ginny
Fluff with slight OOC
Read, Review, Enjoy!
Harry held onto Ginny as she mourned over the loss of the eldest twin. The battle was long gone, yet not all peace had been restored. With those who perished some wondered if it would ever be.
"It'll be alright Gin, I promise," Harry whispered as he stroked his girlfriend's hair. Still softly crying, his soothing words did nothing to reassure her.
"Don't worry," he gave her a tighter squeeze. Ginny, however, just shook her head. The Weasley's were too close of a family to be cheered up so easily. When one hurt, they all hurt. When one died, they all seemed to dieā¦on the inside.
Looking over at his two best mates, he noticed that Hermione seemed to be having better luck with Ron, but still it wasn't much. These things take time, and Harry knew that better than anyone.
After having been sitting there for a good fifteen minutes, Harry shifted his weight to try and get a bit more comfortable.
"Harry?" Ginny had a firmer grip on his hand.
"It's alright, I'm not going anywhere," he pecked her forehead. Ever since his near death experience after the final duel with Voldemort her greatest fear had always been losing him again. And now with Fred gone that fear had heightened.
"I'm always going to be by your side," he murmured.
She spoke again, this time more quietly, "Always?"
"No matter what," he smiled down at her.
Ginny still looked up at him, feeling vulnerable and insecure for the first time in a long while.
Noticing this, Harry continued, "I'll be by your side, wherever you fall," he placed his head gently on hers as she listened, "even in the dead of night, whenever you call," Ginny let out a small laugh at his corniness. And feeling a bit more at ease, relaxed into the arms holding her.
Harry gave her a small kiss and said, "I'll always be there for you."
