"Grams," called out the little boy. "Why do I have to go to bed so early?"

The older woman, walked down the hall to the boy. Her toothless smile was sweet and loving to her sweet grandson. "Because you are small child and you can't stay up that late like the rest of us."

"Pffft," said the boy as he headed for bed. "When I'm old enough, I'm going to stay up all night."

"I'm sure you will," said Grams as she sat down on the end of the bed. "Now, if you will get under the covers, I will tell you tonight the most important part of the Alice story."

The little boy crawled under the covers and got comfortable. His Grams had been telling him the story of Alice, when she came to Wonderland. She was suppose to come back, but no one knew when that was going to be. He had been told that someone in his family had helped Alice and that when she came back, she would be important to his family again.

"So where did we leave off last night?" asked Grams.

"Alice is talking to Cheshire Cat, " said the boy.

"Alright," said Grams. "The cat tells Alice to go see the March Hare."

"Why?" asked the lad.

Looking at the boy when he just had to interrupt her to ask a question. "She had to meet the Hatter at the tea party!"

The boy clapped when his family name was said. "Yes, she meet us and we are famous!"

"Yes, we are," said Grams. "Alice sat down and had tea, cake and good conversation."

"Of course," said the boy. "The Hatter's are wonderful people."

"They say that Alice will return to Wonderland, when we need her the most," said Grams. "The way things are going with the Queen of Hearts, it could be at any time."

"Do you think Alice will come to see us?" asked the boy.

"She might," said Grams "We will have to wait and see if she does. So it's time to close your eyes and go to sleep."

"Alright, Grams," said the boy.

Grams left the room and left the boy. He closed his eyes and made a wish. 'When Alice comes back, please lead her to me.'

Years later, when Hatter opened his tea shop, he had given up on Alice ever coming back to Wonderland. He bought the feelings from the Queen to sell it to the people of Wonderland. The people would come to the tea shop and bid on the feels from the Oysters. It wasn't something Hatter thought he would ever do, but at least he wasn't as bad as the Queen. He helped the resistance when he could. Getting food to those hiding in the great Library. It may not be the life he thought he would lead. He had this grand life planned and Alice would have been the center of his life. Yeah dreams of childhood where stupid.

When the man came in and told him that he had 'The Alice', Hatter just stared at the man like he had lost his mind. "Bring her in!" said Hatter. Turning the chair around to face away. He really didn't believe that there would be anyone brought in.

When he turned around, there was the most beautiful woman in Wonderland standing there. 'Alice,' thought Hatter. 'Please let this be the real one!'
