Zutara Prompt: Intimacy

Katara's POV

I climb out of my window and drop to the ground. Once on the ground, I walk over to the forest and start picking my way through. The forest is really dense and the dark doesn't help. I keep going because I know I won't get lost.

After about half an hour of walking, I realize I'm freezing and really tired. I sit down on a log and look up at the stars. Each star twinkles brightly as they fight the dark of night. I sigh as I think about how beautiful each one is. Then I get up and start walking again.

Just as I'm about to go back, I see a fire moving towards me. I smile as I watch it approach slowly.

"Katara?" A voice cuts through the silence. He runs towards me. Once he gets closer I can make out his frame. His face is lit up by the fire in his hands.

"Zuko." I smile. I stand up and hug him tightly. "I was about to go back."

He smiles with me. "I'm glad I came and found you then."

"Do you know the way?" I ask quietly.

His response is to grab my hand and pull me after him. I feel his warmth spread through my body, to each and every molecule.

After a minute, I see the bonfire he built for tonight. I smile at the thought of Zuko and me alone.

We walk into the clearing and I know we've been transported to our own little world. He pulls me to the bright fire, so I can warm up.

"Zuko." I hug him. Then I stand on tiptoes to reach his perfect face.

He leans down to close the gap between us. Then we kiss. It's nice and slow because we know we have all the time we want.

Then we speed up. I need more. I hunger for his touch.

I ruffle my hands through his hair and he places a hand on my back. We stand so close together there is no room between us.

We then pull apart to take a breath. Then he lies down on his back with me lying next to him.

I then breathe out and realize I can see my breath. I grab his hand and feel instant warmth.

We both smile up at the stars that twinkle above as they watch over us.

We roll onto our sides to look at each other.

"Thank you for guiding me through the dark Zuko. I love you." I whispered to him.

"I love you too Katara." He whispered back.

I had confessed my love with only the trees as my witness.

3rd Person

The sunlight streamed in through the trees. Zuko and Katara were now snuggling under a single sheet. Katara turned to look at Zuko. His bare chest was showing. His strong arms wrapped around her shoulders.

She couldn't stop herself from thinking, "That was amazing."

Then Katara sat up quickly. Sunlight? She needed to go back to the castle.

"Katara? What's the matter?" Zuko asked groggily.

"I have to go. It was nice to see you again Zuko." Katara started to get dressed quickly.

"I'll come with you!" He exclaimed as he started putting his pants on.

He looked up to find Princess Katara gone. They had meet and instantly fallen in love, but she was already betrothed to someone else. That's why they always met in the woods at night.

He sighed and continued getting dressed. He planned on following her and stopping her from getting engaged. Even if he had to go into Water Territory. He would do anything for her.
