'I wonder if it'll snow for Christmas this year…'

Sakura thought to herself as she rocked silently back and forth on a swing in Penguin Park.Sakura giggled slightly at the thought of a winter snowfall. Although it was cold, she knew it probably wouldn't snow this year. Suddenly, Sakura felt two warm hands touch her back as she felt her swing lift higher than it was before.

"Syaoran! God, would you stop that? You keep sneaking up on me!" Sakura scolded the brown haired boy.

" Sorry," Syaoran replied with a smirk as he sat next to her. He couldn't believe the beauty that sat next to him. Her auburn hair swayed along her shoulders, having grown from the time they were twelve. Not much had changed about her. She still had her amazing emerald eyes, with the unique spark that he couldn't quite find in anybody else. She still had that innocence about her, though it felt like it had grown in some way.

"Sakura…" He traveled off hopelessly.

"Yeah?" She answered back

He took a breath. "…I'm moving back to Hong Kong the day after Christmas."

She quickly stood up and turned to look at him. "You can't…no-no, you just can't…"

Her eyes, he could see, had filled up with tears that were waiting to fall. He felt a pang of hate for the Elders, who were making him come back to become the Li Clan leader. Syaoran stood up.

"How – how could you leave me alone – alone with her," He could see the tears escaping, and could hear the tremor in Sakura's voice. Her voice sounded so young and fragile. It sounded as if she thought he was betraying her, and in a way he was. He had promised to protect her, and now that he was leaving he couldn't.

"Sakura. I know your step-mom abuses you –"

" – Mom and her do not belong in the same sentence – "

"But don't you think you could tell your father?" Syaoran finished as if she hadn't said anything.

Sakura started to shake her head slowly. "You really don't get it? You really don't?" Silent tears started to fall again. She turned around to run off, but Syaoran caught her wrist and pulled her to him.

"What don't I get, Sakura?" Syaoran whispered in her ear. He was hugging her from behind.

"Everyone I love leaves me! Everyone…Touya's off at college, Dad's never home, and you…I-I thought you would stay…I love you, damnit! Why are you leaving…?" She broke down crying.

"Oh, Sakura…" He kissed her neck lightly and said, "I have something for you…"

He pulled out a carefully wrapped, small box out of his pocket. As Sakura open the box, she gazed at the small pine scented gift inside.

"Mistletoe…" She breathed.

Syaoran held the mistletoe above their heads and looked down at Sakura. He bent down and pressed his lips against hers. They creased, and Sakura's hands traveled up to his neck as his sneaked down around her back. He broke the contact and span her around. She gasped, and they kissed again.

"I love you too, Sakura." Syaoran said.

Suddenly, a white flake floated between their heads.

'The first snowflake…'
