This is a slightly random idea I had... no, scratch that. It was completely random. And it idn't turn out like I thought it would, but oh well. Maybe it wasn't completely random and had some influence from RavageDarkness's fic Thank You.

"What made you decide to join the football team?" Asked the kid with spiky brown hair. I had loved football since I'd gotten bored and picked up an issue of Football Monthly about a month ago and I was completely alien to the fact that there was an American Football team on my school campus.
"Well… the fullback really." They looked at me curiously. I could see that the fullback wasn't even here for this meeting as there were only two players and the Secretary and Manager. "He's… just there. Ready to be useful when he's needed, to block, to run, to be invisible. To jump to the need if there was the call for it." I stopped and looked at them seriously, I'd always been very timid and slightly invisible (Although to Hiruma, no one is invisible and he has used me to his advantage multiple times.) but that wasn't stopping me now. I wanted to play.
"Thank you, we'll get back to you, Mr. Taiko." The pretty secretary smiled at me and I gave a timid grin back. Then stood and walked out of the building for the last time. We moved a week later, a 'surprise' from my parents.
I never knew until about six months later when that same fullback caught up with me after a game. They'd won but I was glad that I'd done my position's job well and scored at least one touchdown. He'd told me that he was surprised I'd noticed him on the field back when I'd gone to Deimon. I'd laughed and admitted that I wouldn't have noticed him unless I hadn't seen him on the flier that the manager was handing out. He just shrugged with a forgettable smile, told me that he believed it because he was there in the interview room and headed back to his team when Hiruma started ranting at him. I turned back to my team's locker rooms and never noticed him again. But still, at least I knew he was there.
