Dear Diary:
you used to know how to swim, but its been so long.
all of a sudden your being thrown into a pool.
the water hurts and you panic.
at one point you could swim, but its been too long.
you see your reflection underwater, along with everyone else's.
you thrash and kick, they just watch.
"she's fine. she can swim."
they offer no help as your gasping for someone and silently screaming, but no one hears, no one really cares.
you feel yourself slipping, letting go.
you finally realize there is no life guard, no ones going to save you.
you stop worrying, caring, as the cool numb sets in.
you watch them with bitter eyes as you finally sink to the bottom.
their smiles leave as your last breath arrives.
they finally understand how wrong they've been.
they smiled and laughed, joked even as they watched you drown while they thought you were fine.
now they clutch your life less body and wonder how they missed all of the signs.
but its too late now.
