I'm standing on a bridge

I'm waiting in the dark

I thought that you would be here by now

As I wandered broken heartedly through the wilderness, I came across a small bridge. I stood at the railing and gazed over the side. Moonlight was reflected

off the dark, glossy surface of the water. I was waiting for her. Knowing that she was gone, and could never come to me again.

There's nothing but the rain

No footsteps on the ground

I'm listening but there's no sound

Rain started pouring down in torrents all around me, and there was nothing but the sound of my own pounding heart. I keep hoping she'll come back to me.

Somehow. I listen, but the night is still and calm.

Trying to figure out this life

No one knew where I was. Of course, I had very few friends anyway. I traveled with my companions, so I had no real home. I no longer have a real family

either. The cold night breeze begins to seep into my bones, chilling me. I'm so confused. I don't know what to do. How can destiny be so cruel to me. My

past has haunted me night and day, and that same, old pain remains.

I hear footsteps coming up quietly beside me. "Inuyasha?" Kagome called timidly. "Ka...Kagome, what are you doing here?" He asked quietly. "I came to get

you." She answered honestly. "I was worried about you. "Oh", I said sighing. "Let's go back to camp now Inuyasha." "Alright", I replied. She reached out

and grabbed my hand as we walked. In that one simple touch, I found all the comfort that I had been searching for. My inner demons seemed to diminish while

I was around Kagome. I realized that even though she wasn't exactly what I had lost, she was better, stronger somehow. I knew that her loyalty to me would

never waver. Suddenly, it dawned to me. When I'm with Kagome, I feel at home. And so, I promise you this Kagome. I'll always be there to protect you,

because deep down inside my mending heart, I love you.
