I wish Mum was here
SS/HG Oneshot
Grace Snape walked out of her bedroom and through the living room to her father's office. She knocked on the door and waited until she heard her father's voice. Once she had got permission she pushed the door open.
'Gracie?' He said as he looked up from the files on his desk.
'When is mum home?' Grace asked as she looked down at her hands.
'Not until the morning now I'm afraid.' Severus said as he looked at Grace. 'Your mum decided to stay longer another night at the Spa with your Aunt Ginny.'
'Oh.' Grace said as she bit her lip.
'Is something wrong Grace?' Severus asked.
'I need to speak with Mum.' Grace said as she clasped her hands together.
All Grace wanted at this very moment was her mother home; she needed her mother to tell her everything was alright and help her out. She didn't want to tell her father, he was a man after all.
'About?' Severus said as he pushed his chair back from his desk to stand up.
'Nothing it's fine.' Grace said as she shook her head. 'Can I floo call Grandma?'
'Not until you tell me what's wrong?' Severus said as he stood up and walked towards Grace. 'Darling, what's wrong?'
'Nothing.' She said quickly which made Severus more suspicious.
'Are you ill?' He asked as he placed his hand on her forehead but could feel no temperature. 'Are you worried about something? Is that boy being horrible to you again?'
'No.' she said as she looked at the floor.
Severus looked at his dark haired daughter and sighed. What was wrong?
'Gracie, you can tell me anything and if something is wrong I need to know.' He said as he placed a hand on her shoulder.
Grace mumbled something Severus couldn't hear so asked her to speak louder.
'I started my period.' She said as she looked at her hands.
'I see.' Severus said a little shocked. Surly his little girl was too young to start her period, she was only eleven.
'That's why I wanted Mum.' She said.
'I can understand that.' He said. 'Is your stomach hurting?'
'A bit.' She said as she nodded.
'I'll get you a potion to help. Do you know where your mother keeps such things for this?' Severus said.
'No.' Grace said as she looked at Severus for the first time.
'Go into our bathroom and under the sink should be towels for you to put in your underwear.' He said as he stroked her head. 'Don't worry.'
'Thanks Daddy.' She said as she walked off to her parent's room leaving Severus alone in his office wishing at this very moment Hermione was here.
