The Life of Me: Korra
" Senna, we're almost there. Just calm down." Tonraq was carrying his struggling wife to Katara's home, and with his wife's thrashing, she seems to get heavier, and he seems to get more tired than ever.
" DO YOU THINK I WILL CALM DOWN!? I'M PREGNANT, AND I'M ABOUT TO GO TO LABOR, FOR SPIRITS SAKE!" Senna's usually calm, but this is wayyy different, Tonraq thought, if she ever gets pregnant again, I'll just leave her with Katara or something. She nearly strangled him to death, but luckily, they reached Katara's house. Tonraq placed Senna in the nearby bed, and took a seat next to her. He asked Katara for a drink of water, which he drank messily.
" Senna, please keep calm. Breathe in, breathe out. Are you ready to do this?" Senna gave Katara a nod, and began yelling. Tonraq was holding Senna's hand, but because of her strong grip, he yelled with her. " Tonraq, I think you should wait outside." He nodded, but as he was walking to the door, looking at his throbbing hand, he heard a baby's cry. He turned around, and at the sight of blood, fainted.
" Oh, thank the spirits it's over. Can I see my baby girl?" Katara handed Senna the baby.
" She's beautiful! She has your eyes, and Tonraq's nose." Senna smiled, finally seeing the baby's ocean-blue eyes. " Tonraq! Look at your bab… Um… Katara… Is he going to be ok?"
Katara laughed. " Oh of course… You have no idea how many times that happen… And to think, Tonraq being a hunter, he should be used to the sight of blood." Katara splashed water on Tonraq, and he instantly woke up.
" What was that fo… Senna! The baby!" He ran to his wife's side. He took the baby from her. " Oh my little moon goddess. You're finally here."
A storm started, and it seemed to get stronger by the minute. The winds moved violently, and the waves were powerful. Katara noticed this. " I think you should stay here for now. The storm outside is too strong. I'll light a fire and set the room for you three." For you three, Tonraq thought, that sounds very nice.
The happy family went to their room, but Katara stayed in the living room. The storm was getting worse. The rain hit the ground harder. The fire was dancing. The wind was blowing the windows open. And then an earthquake happened. What..is happening? The elements? Is it the spirits? An earthquake? That rarely happens here. What if…?
Katara rushed to the room she set up for Senna, Tonraq, and the baby. Senna and tonraq were trying to calm the baby down. "Katara, can you help us? The baby's been crying nonstop!" Senna said.
"Are you guys okay? Are you hurt?"
"Hurt from what?"
"The earthquake!"
"What earthquake?" The couple looked at the elderly woman in a confused way.
"Never mind. Just give me the newborn." She took the baby to the living room, and sang her a lullaby.
The baby slowly calmed down, and went to sleep. The weather calmed down. Katara held the baby carefully, and called the parents. "Tonraq, Senna, come here."
" I know this might sound exciting, scary, or shocking, but… I mean, I'm just assuming, but you know, I might be wrong. I mean, it's probably to early to say, like from birth…"
"Katara, just spit it out. You can tell us," Senna said.
"Okay. What I'm trying to say is, I strongly believe that she is the new avatar."
