Immeasurable Moments of Time

Time cannot be measured in the sense of uncountable moments. The moments that we treasure are the ones that we can pull out of our memories and view for the time being. The moments that can bring a smile to your face and remind you that there is a lot more to life than what you're trying to live for.
Time is a precarious thing, it's very tedious, and a soft-guarantee is never granted—not for you, and not for me. It's easy to pretend that time is measured with simple labels: seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years…but we both know that time cannot be measured purely without memories; whether that being the good memories or the bad ones.
The memories that you and I try to keep are the ones that bring bright smiles to our faces; reminding us of the fond times that we've spent in the past. But the memories that stick in the back of mind for an entire lifetime are the moments in life when you realize one thing: pain.
Pain is part of the many things that are inevitable. Pain brings out all sorts of usually controllable emotions. It triggers unwanted tears and out-of-sorts reactions. It really breaks a person.
Pain is similar to love if you were to ask me. Without pain, love could not be true. You could never say you weren't hurt after being in love because one thing or another is bound to happen.
Love is justified in labels. It needs a label, similar to the way time needs labels in order to be true. Love is counted in the moments that take your breath away, the songs that bring you to your knees, and the people that make it all possible.
Love is the one emotion that can hurt and cause pure joy all at the same time. It is all sorts of imperfection. They say love is never mean, selfish, impatient, or deceitful. But I don't agree.
Love can be anything its partaker imagines.
Love can be sharing a secret smile from across a cafeteria, love can be what flies two-hundred miles just to see you for the night, love can be the words that allow you to express yourself, love can be a stranger who holds the door for you, or a book that causes you to feel emotions out of your reach.
Love is the stars that shine so brightly in the sky that it blinds and dimmers any other light. It's the untouchable; so close, yet so far. It's palpable in the midst of absolutely nothing. It's the kind of roller-coaster that you are absolutely terrified to ride but once it gets moving, you realize that the person next to you is what makes the ride all that much more enjoyable. Love is much more than that.
Love is nothing and everything to me.
When I think of love, it is not only the one feeling to describe the way you feel about someone that makes your heart beat fast or causes a grin so wide to stretch across your face that your cheeks are hurting from smiling so widely. Love is not just the feelings that break but the honesty you want to pretend is fake.
Love isn't just waking up and thinking to yourself I can't wait to see you, or the goodnight texts that cause you to grin like an idiot. It's not just the words, but more so, the way you we say them.
Love takes time to be able to enjoy it to its full extent.
Love is patient (impatient), love is wonderful (terrible), love is alluring (haunting), love is love (hate), love is you (and me.)
So now you know what love is to me, what does it mean to you?
