It was night time at Big Green, and Jumpy Ghostface was curled up under the blanket in his bed, shivering. He wasn't shivering because he was cold, he was scared. There was a thunderstorm outside, and the noise was scaring him, and the lightning outside was making scary shadows on his room. A particularly loud clap of thunder scared him, and he screamed in terror, pulling the blanket right over him.
Just then, Lin Chung came in, wearing his pyjamas, because he heard screaming. He saw Jumpy hiding under his blanket, shaking, and he approached the bed.
"Jumpy?" He called softly, tapping him through the blanket.
Jumpy emerged from under the blanket. "Lin... Chung?" He questioned, looking puzzled. "Why Lin Chung in Jumpy's bedroom?"
"I heard screaming, are you ok?" Lin Chung replied, calmly. He hated it when his friends were upset or scared.
"Jumpy scared! Nasty loud thunder outside, and lighting make scary shadows" Jumpy explained, his eyes tearing up.
Lin Chung reached over and pulled Jumpy onto his lap. "Thunder can't hurt you, Jumpy." He said softly. "And lightning is just electricity, like what Mighty Ray has." He added.
Jumpy clung to Lin Chung with his paws and his ears, and Lin Chung hugged back, stroking Jumpy's soft, white fur.
Just then the peacock clock sounded, showing it was quite late.
"Come on, let's get you back to bed." Lin Chung said. "You should go to sleep."
"Jumpy too scared!" Jumpy squeaked, clinging to Lin Chung.
Lin Chung noticed it had gone quiet, but didn't say anything. He stood up, and carried Jumpy out of his bedroom, still hugging him close. He walked to the entrance of Big Green, and saw that the thunderstorm had cleared up.
"Look Jumpy." He said. "It's all over now."
Jumpy looked and saw that the sky was still cloudy, but all the thunder and lighting was gone. The moon was crescent like a big banana in the sky, shining through a gap in the clouds.
Jumpy chittered softly at the sight of it, his eyelids drooping with tiredness.
Lin Chung noticed Jumpy was growing sleepy, so he made his way back to Jumpy's room. He walked over to Jumpy's bed and placed him into it, tucking him in under the blankets and propping his head on his pillow. He placed Jumpy's blue sleep blindfold onto him, and stroked Jumpy's head softly, until he heard snoring, and then he quietly crept back to his room, not wanting to wake him. And when Jumpy woke in the morning, the sun was shining brightly and the sky was clear, leaving no trace of last nights thunderstorm.
