This is a small idea I had since rereading House of Hades. It's not much, but I just thought about how whatever Percy went through in Tartarus would affect Louisa- they're twin connection thingamabob.
Anyway, it's not much, but I'm hoping to go on zombies again tonight, so a proper update should be tomorrow night. I've got a few ideas to work with now!
See if you can guess what the problems are caused by!
Louisa had remained in a fierce temper ever since the rest of the Seven had relayed her brother's and Annabeth's latest predicament. They had quickly learnt to be very careful about her with this current mood- her powers often grew unstable in bouts of rage and the slightest thing could trigger them. A full force hurricane, flood, storm or an earthquake was not on their check list. Mountain gods were bad enough!
They had sat for dinner, Louisa fuming in her brother's vacant seat, glowering at her pizza as though it were Gaia. Leo had seen that look often enough; she wanted to tear someone limb from limb, but wasn't sure where to start. Even so, he bravely sat next to her, hoping she would calm long enough to listen to his terrible jokes.
He watched his best friend carefully, waiting for the explosion. The others talked amongst themselves of what to do next, but she only focused on reducing her pizza to a pulp with her fork. He expected broken plumbing or freak storms to knock them off course.
What he did not expect was for her to look increasingly hot and bothered. She even fanned herself; a cute gesture that reminded him of Hazel.
"Are you alright?" He asked carefully.
"It's really hot in here." She mumbled, reaching for the nearest water pitcher and pouring herself a drink. She drained it in one and refilled her glass.
"Lou?" Piper frowned concernedly at Poseidon's daughter. "What's the matter?" Leo cautiously felt his friend's forehead- she was burning up, like she had suddenly contracted a raging fever times a thousand. She was halfway through the water already and still drunk more like no tomorrow.
Leo and Frank escorted her to her cabin- her and Percy's cabin- finding she was unsteady and dazed. Leo turned the temperature of the room as low as he dared, but it seemed to make no difference.
For the next five minutes, her temperature rose and rose and Frank refilled the pitcher twice.
And then she was fine: like somebody had blown out a candle; as quick as that. She had one last drink and told Leo to restore the previous temperature to the cabin.
"What-?" Frank started, staring at her to her feet. She was much more balanced now, her skin pleasantly warm as usual. She looked from him to Leo and then at the wall before her.
"I really need the toilet."
I know it's short, but what do you think caused this?
