Why do I have to do this to you guys? I am not responsible for the feels you may or may not encounter. Or maybe I am. The world will never know.

Sollux dropped to the ground, energy and sanity completely sapped by his mind honey trip, courtesy of Vriska. He tried to blink away the blurry vision, seeing a dark figure in the distance. In his second glance, he noticed it was covered in blood. In the third, realization kicked him hard in the face.

Aradia was slowly slipping away about twenty feet from where he lay, and thanks to a sudden adrenaline burst he struggled to his feet and ran towards the dying girl he had come to accept as his matesprit.

"A-aradia?" He whispered, his voice cracking with fatigue and emotion. A whimper and slight movement was the reply of the nearly-dead troll in front of him. He dropped to his knees beside her, brushing a lock of hair out of her face. Despite the maroon blood pooling around her, despite the fact that the pigment was quickly draining from her grey skin, she still looked beautiful as always.

"S-Sollux..? I'm scared..." The dying girl choked out, reaching weakly and blindly for his hand. He held her hand in his, his thumb rubbing comforting circles onto it. He had already come to accept that there was no way out of this; no matter how hard he tried, she wouldn't make it.

"Why are you thcared?" Sollux murmured, stroking her hair with his free hand. "Justht let go, it'll all be over thoon.." "I-I don't want to let go..." She whimpers, coughing up blood. He shushed her and kissed her on the forehead.

Even with as gentle of a grip as he had on her hand, he could still feel her heartbeat, and it was getting a little quicker. Suddenly Aradia began gasping for air and panicking when it couldn't reach her lungs. Sollux's heart broke to see her struggling to breathe, but he couldn't just leave her. He gently moved her so her head was on his shoulder, trying to prevent her from choking on her own blood. His hand began gently rubbing her back, trying desperately to comfort her as he knew this was it. Within a few minutes her breathing quieted, and within a few more, it stopped. She was gone.
