All Buffy characters were created by Joss Whedon. Not me.
Notes: What happened when Buffy and Angel met in between episodes "Flooded" and "Life Serial" (6.4 and 6.5)? Here's my take on the scene.
Reunion

"Buffy!" The instant Angel saw the blonde-haired woman he ran up to her and embraced her tightly. "You're alive..."
She hugged him in return – happy to see him but yet feeling awkward about it all. "I thought this would be a good place to meet," she replied. "My dad used to take me here all the time when Dawn and I were little..."
The two had decided to meet at a small park in between Sunnydale and L.A. When the vampire had heard his dead ex-lover was alive again, he couldn't believe it. Willow didn't give him any details, except that Buffy Summers was now ex-deceased.
Angel stepped back and looked her in the eyes, holding her hands. He could feel the blood pumping through them, but the rhythm was slightly different than last time he had seen her. He tried to keep from crying. "How did you...?"
"Willow. With help from Xander and Anya and Tara. They did a spell, and brought me back."
"When I heard that you..." Angel sighed deeply and paused. "It was the end of the world for me."
"I know what that feels like," she replied, thinking back to when she killed the man that now stood before her. "But I guess we can't stay dead. Heck, I've been killed twice and I just keep coming back!"
The two of them laughed for a few moments before Angel caressed her cheek. She winced and backed away from him.
"Sorry. It's just weird for me, you know?"
"I... I understand..." They sat down on a bench – next to each other, but not touching. "Can I ask you something?"
"If it's about what happened after I died and before I came back... I don't know if I want to talk about it right now."
"Actually, I was going to ask... never mind."
She laughed. "See, Angel, I know you too well."
He smiled in return. "How are you doing?"
"Just peachy," she answered with a hint of sarcasm. "I'm broke and without a job."
"If you need anything, Buffy, I..."
"Thanks for the offer. But it'll all work out, somehow. It always has."
"Especially with your friends being there for you." Buffy cringed slightly, enough for Angel to take notice. "What is it?"
"I... it's so hard, Angel. I love my friends, but... they don't understand."
The vampire looked at her curiously. "Well, none of them have ever died before. You've been through it twice!"
She stared into his eyes. "Angel, it's not like that... well, it kind of is, but..."
"But what?"
"I haven't told anyone," she sighed, pushing the confession to Spike at the back of her mind. "Nobody knows what really happened to me. They brought me back, and now... it's all different."
"What do you mean?"
Buffy glanced at her fingers resting on her lap for a few moments. "My friends think they saved me from some torturous hell dimension. But I wasn't in Hell."
He looked at her sadly with realization. "You were in heaven?"
"I was happy, Angel. I didn't have to worry. I was home."
"Xander and Willow and the others... they don't know?"
"They can't know. Ever."
Angel wrapped his arms around her, and she didn't protest. She closed her eyes while he continued to hold her silently, letting the hours pass by.
