Not much to say about this, except that it was written in one go and so may not be all that great.

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, its characters, or anything remotely related to it. I do hope I own this plot, I don't know any people who have had Hermione try to teach Ron how to use American currency right after British currency. I also do not own the Hogwarts Casino 2014 Challenge/Competition.

"That will be twenty dollars and fifty-two cents," the girl behind the counter said monotonously.

"Erm, just a minute," said Hermione, fumbling around in her purse. She produced a thick wad of cash from its depths.

"Alright, Ron, help me separa - Ron!"

"What?" Ron snapped his attention back from the large poster of a hulking figure swathed in mist. Hermione proceeded to glare at him.

"Help me," she hissed, tossing half of the bills at him. He caught it almost immediately.

"So, how much is it?" Ron asked the cashier nervously. "Twenty dollars and fifty?" He rummaged through the mint-green sheets in his hand. "Er, twenty dollars," - he held up a sheet with the number twenty written on its four corners - "...and...fifty?" He produced a paper bill with the number fifty on its four corners, replacing the twentys on the previous bill.

"No, Ron, twenty dollars and fifty-two CENTS!" Hermione whispered urgently.

"Oh, er, two more then," Ron flicked through the bills and pulled out two of them with ones written on them. "There's no two dollar papers in here, though…"

"Cents, Ron, cents!" Hermione rolled her eyes, reaching back inside her purse. She pulled out a handful of coins. "These are cents," she pointed out to Ron.

"I'm sorry, but we have a line waiting," the cashier girl said impatiently, glancing pointedly at the long line behind them. "If you could just wrap this up sometime soon…"

"Right, cents," Ron repeated, staring at the coins. "But which is which? It doesn't say."

"I don't know," Hermione said, panic slowly spreading through her. "I never read anything about cents before we left for America except for what they look like - what are we going to do, we haven't got time to figure it out, the line - "

"You know what, we don't need to watch a 'moodie' or whatever they're called," Ron interrupted.

"Movie," Hermione corrected, staring at him. "But you said - "

"I said I wanted to go, I know," Ron continued, "But I think a nice walk in the park sounds much better, don't you think?"

Hermione stood there for a moment, before beaming at him. "That sounds like a brilliant idea to me."

"We'll be leaving now," Ron said to the cashier, wrapping his arm around Hermione's waist. He turned and gently led her out the door.

"Wha - " was the last thing they heard before the door closed behind them. They ignored it, walking out into the blissfully warm evening.

No flames, please, because I know it sucks well enough. Constructive criticism and anything else is appreciated, though. :) Go ahead and flood me with reviews!
