My friend just gave me a quote that a friend gave her. I love it to death and (dun, dun, dun) here it is: "She was always behind the scenes, never the star. Always the friend, but never the girl." Who knows if she made it up or if it's from a movie. Who knows and I don't really care but I do not take credit for it. I also don't take credit for Teen Titans 'cause if I did I'd be rolling in mula.
And Starfire watched as that cocky, handsome grin grew on his face. What a pretty girl he was talking to, what a pretty girl had stolen his attention. She pushed her soft hair through her fingers. She would never be beautiful like the girl was. She would never be worthy of his undying attention, the same attention the pretty girl recieved. She shifted around in her tight suit. Robin threw her a small smile before bending over a peice of paper and signing his name. The pretty girl said something that made him laugh. He ran his hand through his black hair and left it on the back of his head. He offered up his right hand to say goodbye but the pretty girl pulled him into a hug. He chuckled softly and, with a final goodbye, jogged over to Starfire.
"Hey." He said simply. She looked at the ground. "Hello, my friend." All these feeling she had for him were pointless. She did not need them. She did not want them. Yet she had to have them. She held them when she was desperate and fed them when she was hopeful. Robin saw her downcast eyes.
"What's wrong?" He asked her, concerned eyes hid behind his mask.
"Nothing. Just a strange feeling." She told him and looked him in the eyes. He would never know how badly she wanted to untie his mask and watch it fall to the ground. She didn't even know what color eyes he had.
"Oh, well then we'd better head home." She could hear the leadership in his voice.
"Okay." As she said that, the wind whipped around her face. He thought she looked amazingly gorgeous but wouldn't confess that to anyone.
"Star?"
"Yes, Robin?"
"I'm glad you're my best friend." And that's all she would ever be.
