An Unfair World
It's unfortunate that we can't tell what happens next
For some, they're waiting by their phones for that text
Some people don't know if they're about to break down in tears
For others, tomorrow, their loved one might not be here
There's the anticipation and impatience we all have
Who knows?
There are words left unsaid and it grows and it grows
We're not here just because this is out of good manners
We are here because we've lost a friend, a Panther.
He was a looker and his talent made him shine
A warrior and worrier; he lost himself a couple times
& he smiles..
Like he's sad, but he wants his friends to be happy
A little on the corny side, and we know how he hates 'tacky'
He's an adventurer, a smart man
Because he is, and it's true
Brings himself down, even with an high IQ
Maya was his muse
& he ain't afraid to say it
He had a thing for hockey so
He moved here JUST to play it
And THAT was the issue.
Now everyone's crying over everything 'cause they done ran out of tissues
Homesick puppy who just wanted to fit in
Never told anyone that he was truly sad within
Left his home in another country just to make a living
And I wish this wasn't the poem I'd be force to be knitting
..together.
Campbell, you'll be in our hearts forever
You left a family, a future, lots of fans, a hockey goal
Our final request is that may you rest your soul
But most importantly, you left a confused, scared, girl
I'm sorry, man. So sorry that it's an unfair world.
