The chattering of teenagers filled the hallways of Kennedy High as the students filed in and loitered, waiting for the ominously looming bell to signal the official start of the school day.
Lily, Carmen and Harrison entered the school together, talking among themselves and weaving through the crowds, working their way to their usual meeting place at Sam's locker. That morning carried on a recent addition to the morning routine and they found Brooke already there, leaning against it and looking down towards the floor.
Down at Sam, who was pressed with her nose to the tile and had her arms braced, preparing to heft herself upwards.
The three of them stopped as they reached Brooke, and stared.
"Um, maybe this is a stupid question but… why is Sam doing push-ups in the middle of a very crowded hallway?" Carmen asked with raised eyebrows. Brooke tossed her hair over her shoulder and shot them a smirk.
"Sammie and I made a bet, didn't we?" A grunt was Brooke's only response as Sam continued with her push-ups. "Sam lost."
"What were the terms?" Lily asked with a smile.
"She's been slipping up a lot lately, so I bet that she couldn't go a day without leering at me in full view of everyone."
Harrison laughed, Carmen let out a loud snort and Lily almost had some kind of fit.
"And you wore that skirt?" Harrison asked red-faced, and Brooke's smirk widened at Sam's responce.
"See, I told you it was cheating."
