Rosalie Hale was a sweet Southern girl-next-door, raised since the age of 3 with her twin brother Jasper by her grandmother Carmen. They lived in Nashville, Tennessee till the twins were 13, then later relocated to Houston, Texas due to Carmen expanding her interior decorating business.
Carmen made sure her granddaughter and grandson got everything they needed, even if it meant working late into the night. The twins were nothing but grateful, they worked hard at school and had jobs since the age of fifteen.
Jasper excelled in football, receiving several scholarship offers by various universities, and at the age of 18 he returned to Tennessee to attend school there.
Rosalie, however, took over her grandmothers business when the elderly Carmen became too frail, and continued to live in the same 3 bedroom apartment caring for her.
Carmen Hale, however, was tough and headstrong, and demanded that Rosalie lived her life, not take care of her. She pushed Rosalie into interviewing for a fashion magazine based in New York, to become an editor. Carmen had phoned herself to organize and interview, and had told the editor in chief that her granddaughter must be interviewed, because she was fabulous.
Rosalie suddenly had an interview with Alice Cullen, someone who had a massive influence over the fashion industry.
It was then, when she went to the large 120 story building situated in the heart of the city, that she met Emmett.
