"It's only a movie. It's only a movie," Bilbo whispered to himself as he watched the movie.

Of course this was the classic part where the main character was about to enter the strange house when the monster was inside, and Bilbo loathed this part. He had specifically told Bofur, Ori, Dwalin, and Thranduil to bring other movies... not scary ones. He wanted non-scary movies, and not just because it was late at night and he was planning on sleeping but, because his Thorin wasn't here to protect him from those images on the screen. So, Bilbo sat at the end of the couch, hugging a pillow... or rather hiding behind the pillow.

"It's only a movie," he whispered again.

Bilbo quickly glanced around the quiet room while the main character on the screen was looking around the porch. Bofur was munching on popcorn in the middle of the room. Dwalin and Ori were cuddled on the other couch. And Thranduil was sitting on the other end of the same couch Bilbo was on. A small pout-ish whimper left Bilbo as his eyes returned to the screen.

"There it goes..." he muttered to himself. "She's gonna open the-"

Knock. Knock.

"AH!" Bilbo startled, throwing the pillow from him in haste. He fumbled for the remote and paused the video before heaving out a huge sigh. "Just... the door..." he breathed. He chuckled lightly and slowly moved towards the door. A tall figure was outside and Bilbo gulped down his fear as he opened the door.

"Thorin!" he smiled, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend's neck. "You came!"

The taller man grinned after Bilbo pulled back. "Am I late?" he asked.

"N-not really..." Bilbo said. "Bofur brought three movies, so we're gonna stay up all night." He smiled at his Thorin, who was wearing blue plaid pajama bottoms and a sweatshirt with his hair messily combed. "You look handsome."

Thorin smiled. "Here," he said, handing Bilbo a bottle. "I know you've been wanting one."

"Oh, thank you," Bilbo replied with a shy smile. As much as he wanted to open the bottle of Pepsi and break his promise to stop drinking soda, Bilbo knew he had to get back inside to watch the movie. "Come in," he said to Thorin.

The other entered and set his dufflebag beside the door before Bilbo dragged him to the couch. He smiled at Dwalin, Ori, and Bofur as he was led to the couch. He cleared his throat to suppress a growl when he saw Thranduil.

"Be nice," Bilbo commanded into Thorin's ear.

Thorin nodded subtly and sat on the couch, tugging his Bilbo down with him.

Bilbo sighed happily before reluctantly playing the movie again. He snuggled into Thorin's warmth as he watched the girl on the screen open the door. He unconsciously flinched and whimpered as the monster on the other end of the door grabbed the girl but smiled as he felt Thorin's arm pull him comfortingly close.

Yes, scary movies with his boyfriend were the greatest.
