-caring is overrated-

troypay.

By Katie

a/n: I'm feeling all angst-y and un-happy today. So I'm writing a little short Troypay. I'm actually supposed to be working on this one fic I promised a person, but I'm not feeling like writing something happy right now...

disclaimer: I don't own High School Musical or anything related.

He's not mine. He's not mine to kiss, he's not mine to love. He belongs to someone else. Someone much more deserving then me.

I cheat. I lie. I'd even go far enough to call myself cheap and easy. But only when necessary.

But the person he belongs to...

Oh, she is everything I can never be.

Gabriella. Her voice and attitude drip with happy peppy cheery whatever. She never lies. She cheat no one. And she wears a purity ring.

It makes me sick.

I know it makes him sick too.

Him. Troy.

He's never told me why he keeps Gabriella "Call-me-Gabi" around.

No one we know likes her. Other then Taylor and Chad and Zeke and Jason and Kelsi and Martha and Ryan.

And the entire East High student body and faculty. And her mother. And probably everyone she knows.

But other than that...nobody.

Even though Troy doesn't like Gabriella, he probably keeps her around because the king of East High needs the perfect little queen.

I'm far from perfect. No one would want me as their queen.

Troy's so concerned about images. That's what I hate about him.

We've been going out in secret for almost two years now. He hasn't told anyone.

It's just as well, since I haven't told anyone either. Because I'm not so desperately starved for attention.

And I definitely don't want to be labeled as "the girl who ruined Troyella".

Or maybe I hold a secret desire to be labeled as a tawdry streetwalker.

You can never be sure with me. I can't even be sure with me.

I really should care. I should care that I'm stealing someone else's boyfriend. I should care that this is going to end up blowing up in my face.

I SHOULD CARE.

And yet...

Caring sounds so overrated.
