The beautiful notes floating into their minds accompanied by his voice, was simply beautiful to all of them. Something unreal, something that seemed simply foreign and incomprehensible.

Lenalee Lee, the happy go lucky girl of the black order couldn't help but cry. It was so sad, the song, just the notes of the piano told her how truly sad it was. No need to hear the lyrics. So gentle, sweet, yet just so sad. He'll keep praying forever is it? A boy only 15 who has never really seen the world or took the time to enjoy himself is already making vows to fight till he can't breathe. To fight until his body is so broken in pain that he leaves eternally.

Kanda Yu the boy, no man who couldn't be phased by anything was shocked. He was still alive, but he died didn't he? Then the notes invaded his years. A invisible tear, so small no one even if they were there could see. Trailed down his face and dripped off silently. The beautiful melody reminded himself so much of it. The sad and broken past that he couldn't forget ever. Maybe someday, one of these days, he could find that person again. Just a small quirk of his lips nothing much but it was a smile anyway.

Cross Marian was not the least bit surprised at all. He knew Neah gave this to Allen but still even now, even after hearing this melody so many times, maybe it was the sound of his stupid apprentice's voice accompanying it that made this time different, but even now the song was breath taking. He didn't let it show though because Cross Marian was a strong man. A strong man who likely no one will truly ever understand. He did let it pass through his mind though briefly. That stupid apprentice of mine he should've declined that day. He didn't have to become an exorcist. I didn't have a choice though, without him all of the blood shed may as well have been for nothing.

Lavi Bookman the heir to the Bookman clan. The ones who know all and record diligently without feelings. He was sad maybe more then anyone else. Grief was so weird for him now something he used to feel so strongly as a child. A Bookman have no feelings, just meant to write down history without any emotional input but this felt real to him. Maybe this was happening for a while but it took this song to truly realize it. He's turning human, and that isn't allowed...

Allen Walker was the most affected of all though. He didn't even know how to play the piano. He's never touched one before this in his life. That girl who's singing in his head, why does she sound so sad he wants to know. Lost in the melody he begins to sing as well, somehow matching the tempo and words she sings perfectly as if he's being possessed. It's the words his master says that break him out of it though. His wish? What was his wish again? Oh yeah... that's right. He wants to save his friends right? No that's wrong he wants to save everyone. Every single human, akuma or not. But he cannot, this is a war and there will always be causalities, some unnecessary but some are the ones that turn the tide in the war and forge the path to victory. The lives that already have been lost will not be in vain he promises and he starts to play again the melody flowing from his very soul. Something he himself didn't even know.
