Halloween Horror Brianna Lively

Oct. 30, 2005

Once there was a girl named Kagome Higurashi. She was probably the most obstinate, recalcitrant, prevaricate person anyone has ever met. I have the pleasure of being her best friend Sango Karry Hunt better known as S.K, Hunt, the girl on the side lines. It was a week before Halloween and Kagome and I were talking about what houses we were going to go trick-or-treating at. Kagome brings up a really scary house that is supposed to be hunted. "Lets go to that old house on Halloween. You know, the old one right across the street from the Memberson house. It'll be a blast!" she told me. "No!" I screamed only loud enough for her to hear me and look away as soon as I finished speaking. I knew what was going to happen next. "It'll be no fun without you!" she said giving me the best puppy dog eyes she could muster. I finally give in and nodded my head signal I'd go.

It was Halloween and Kagome was jumping up on the couch in her cat person costume. "I can't wait!" she cries in joy letting out shriek of excitement. "Kagome!" called her mother as she came down the stairs. "Stop jumping on all of the furniture!" Kagome apologized for what seemed like hours. When Mrs. Higurashi dismissed us, Kagome practically jumped out of the door. Me on the other hand, walked out reluctantly.

When we got to the house Kagome pulled me on to the front porch every step creaking as we went up. "I dare you to ring the door bell," she said in a singsong voice. I went up to the door uneasily to ring the hanging string I thought was the doorbell. I rung the doorbell and no one answered, I was about to turn and run but something or someone grabbed the tail of my costume and dragged me into the house mercilessly. I heard Kagome screaming my name and trying to reach me, but sadly she was too late.

"Oh my gosh what am I going to do! Sango was just kidnapped!" Kagome cried in frustration. "Being the person that I am, I will save Sango myself with no help from anyone." I burst into the house boldly saying her heroic battle cry, "Biyatata!" My confidence dropped drastically as I was in the house though, what have I gotten myself into this time. I looked down to see a note left at my feet. There were a few words scribbled down on the small piece of paper. We have Sango. She is possessed by an evil witch who has the power to destroy the world. She will have to be eliminated. The note hits the floor just as I fall to my knees, my face extremely pale from what I just read. What am I going to do about this? I struggle to get to my feet, still recovering from what I had just read. Then, I heard horrified screams in the room in front of me. I was too late to save her. I went to the door in time to see a limp figure on the floor. "It wasn't the right person!" I yelled even though I knew what I had said wasn't true. Then I woke up. It was all a dream. I stood up trembling. "Why am I cursed with seeing the future in my dreams?" she thought. "There is only on thing I'm sure of, I have to keep Sango away from that house no matter what. I wouldn't lose my only friend. That was one Halloween surprise I wouldn't be ready for.
