Blaine held his hand out to Kurt after they got out of the car. Kurt smiled and slipped his hand into Blaine's. It was early afternoon, so there was no line, and only a few people scattered around the tables. "Hi, can I get a medium drip, a grande non-fat mocha, and 2 of those heart-shaped cookies?" Blaine asked. "Sure thing. That'll be $11.57." Kurt reached for his wallet, but Blaine waved him away. "This one's on me." He handed the barista a ten and a five and said, "Keep the change." "Thank you. Here's your cookies, and the coffee's will just be a minute, feel free to sit anywhere and I'll bring them to you." "Thank you!" They found a seat by the window and sat down. "So, do you want to come to Friday night dinner this week? I know Dad's gonna wanna meet you, ya know, officially." "Sounds perfect." Blaine smiled. "My parents are probably going to want to meet you too. Maybe on Sunday?" "Yeah. Sunday sounds great. Oh God, what do I wear?" "Kurt." Blaine said his name in fake exasperation. "Wear what ever you want. You'll look amazing. You always do." Kurt smiled, blushing a bit. "Grande non-fat mocha?" The barista asked, holding out the cup. Kurt accepted it. "Thank you." "So yours is the medium drip." She handed it to Blaine. "Thank you." Before walking away, the barista slid a napkin to Blaine and winked at him. He looked extremely puzzled. "Why did she just wink at me?" He asked Kurt. "You really are the most oblivious human being in the entire world aren't you?" Blaine just looked at him, still confused. "She was flirting with you. That napkin has her number on it." Blaine unfolded the napkin. "What...but didn't she see us holding hands on the way in?" "Apparently not. Probably distracted by your cute face." Kurt replied. If that barista was going to flirt with his new boyfriend, then dammit, Kurt was going to flirt with him too. "Guess I'd better explain it to her then." Blaine pulled out his phone and sent a text to the barista; her name was Jodi, according to the napkin. "Thanks, I'm flattered, but I'm taken." She texted back almost instantly. "Sorry! Your girlfriend is a lucky girl." "I actually have a boyfriend, but thank you." Blaine slid his phone back in his pocket, grinning. He loved calling Kurt his boyfriend. "So, are you ready for our duet on Saturday?" "I think I'll be more ready once we practice a little more." "Practice or practice?" Kurt laughed. "I think both would be very beneficial to the quality of our performance on Saturday." "Well maybe we could practice in the car then go back to my place and practice even more." "That sounds like a plan." Kurt slipped his hand into Blaine's and squeezed. After they finished their coffee they left, getting in Blaine's car and turning on the instrumental version of Candles. They sang through it 3 and a half times by the time they made it to Blaine's house. "Well, I think we are guaranteed to win, given that your voice sounds like the angels singing." Blaine said as he turned the car off. "Well that combined with the fact that yours sounds the way chocolate tastes." Kurt replied. Blaine smiled. "C'mon. Let's go practice."

And practice they did.
