Fireworks

It was the start of a new year. She lived in the back of a car, searching, always searching. She heard a tapping on the glass.

She grinned, rolling down the window. "State your name stranger."

Regina rolled her eyes. "Emma open up."

Emma chuckled, "I'm sorry but how can you be Emma, I'm Emma."

Regina frowned, incredibly unamused, "I think I'll be off."

Emma eyes widened as she watched Regina walk off. She sat up, quickly opening the door, she caught Regina'a hand.

"I'm sorry Regina, I just…I was just playing." Emma sighed.

Regina gave her a soft smile, pulling the bangs from the blonde's face. "Your forgiven Miss Swan."

Emma raised her eyebrows, "Regina you sound so old when you say my name like that. Don't get me wrong it's hot, but still."

Regina smiled softly, "I suppose so, darling."

Emma's eyes widened, "They've started."

Both girls hopped onto the car hood and watched the fireworks.

It was fun and lovely but soon the sounds and joys would be gone and reality would creep back on them.

Emma would still be homeless and Regina would go back home…to a horrible nightmare.

But for right now that didn't matter because they were together and in love in only the way teenagers could be.
