The 1960's in America, the "cultural decade" where everything changed and there is no going back. "The Sixties" defines the counterculture and revolution in social norms of clothing, music, drugs, dress, formalities and schooling. Conservatives denounce the decade as one of the most irresponsible and flamboyant decay of the social order. But that's what made it fun. Called the Swinging Sixties for a reason, marking the fall of social taboos, and to be a teen in this decade, or even a preteen, was a privilege.
In the mids of Castle Rock's minor year the arrival of a new yet different type willingly obliges herself to attend Junior High in one of the most run down and unknown towns in California. No site for sort eyes, careless yet a hopeless good two shoes Ridge Silas unknowingly involves herself with four boys forced to grow up and face the music becoming divided as they follow their own beliefs. As she faces all the social taboos of Castle Rock, her inner rough housing self begins to get the better of her, for the good but not all of society agrees with her.
