The theme from my story is Richelle Mead's "Vampire Academy". I own nothing. Except the plot.

Chapter 1: The Emergency

I sat in my room listening to Pierce the Veil, humming along with the song. I was just about to close the web page with my Email account on it when an Email from Dimitri popped up. The subject line read URGENT. I quickly opened and read it. It was simple. One line.

Lissa is in the Emergency Room.

Immediatly, I closed the laptop and quickly got dressed. I ran to the door and slammed it shut, hurridly locking it. I all but ran to my car, a grey 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 with black racing stripes, and shut the door. The engine roared to life and I shifted the gears from Park to Reverse and sped out of the lot. When I got to the ER I quickly scaned the room for anyone I knew, seeing no one I ran to front desk.

I breathlessly the man at the desk where Vasilisa Dragomir was. All he responded with was a bored 'ER Room 57' before returning his attention back to his computer. Anger bubbled up inside me as I fought with myself not to rip his face off then and there. Couldn't he of least given me some directions? I raced to her room and found Dimitri and Christian-her boyfriend-outside her room

"What happened? Why is no one in there with her?" I demanded.

"It's bad Rose. Really bad," Christian said.

"What do you mean it's bad?," I seethed annoyed that he hadn't given more of an explaination.

"She got into a car crash, Roza," Dimitri jumped in trying to diffuse the situation before it got worse. "She wrapped her car around a tree. She has a bad concussion, a broken arm and her femur is fractured in two places."

"How bad is her concussion," I asked wanting to get the more serious injury delt with.

"Bad enough that they're sending her to ICU for it," he replied.

"Ok. So, next what about her femur? How bad is it?"

"She'll have to have a full leg cast for awhile and pins to reposition it."

I was about to ask about her arm, when the doctor walked out of the room. I turned to him getting ready to shoot forth a barge of questions. Dimitri, being ever the mind reader, shot me a look saying 'Don't do it, Rose'. I ignored him and turned back to the doctor.

"How long will she be in ICU," I asked.

"About three weeks. Then we'll move her to a regular room until we are sure she is ready to go home."

"And just how long do you think that will take?"

"About another week, week and a half"

"Okaaaayy, sooo we're looking at approximatly five weeks."

"Correct."

I wa about to ask him another question when a faint and rough sounding 'Rose' came from inside Lissa's room. I darted in her room without another glance. When I got to her bed I was surprised by what I saw.

"Rose," she said her voice slightly less raw. "How is he? Did he survive?"

"I don't know Lissa, I don't think they know yet."

"Who doesn't know what," Christian's annoying voice demanded.
