I woke to the sound of soft knocking on my door. I rose unsteadily out of bed, wondering who could possibly have a valid reason for being here this late at night.
I opened the door slightly, and was suprised to see one of my good friends, Annabeth Chase.
"Percy?" she said softly, "Can I come in?"
"Sure," I whispered, "What's wrong? You look like you've been crying."
"I had a bad dream," She said, "Could I, um, maybe sleep here tonight?"
"Of course. Do you want to talk about it?" I asked.
"I guess," she said, with a slight hint of hesitation in her voice.
"Annabeth, you don't have to tell me if it makes you uncomfortable." I said slowly. "I just want to help you, that's all."
"No it's not that," she said, " It's just kind of embarrassing, that's all."
"Annabeth, you know you can tell me anything." I said truthfully.
"I know, It's just that, well, the dream was about you." she said sheepisly, trying to hide the fact that she was blushing.
If only she knew how many times I had dreamt of her, her beautiful smile, her long blonde hair with those magnificent princess curls, her startling yet alluring grey eyes. But why would she have a bad dream about me?
"It's ok, trust me whatever it is I can handle it." I said wholeheartedly, sitting back down on my bed.
I patted the open spot next to me and she sat down, a look of what I thought to be nervousness in her eyes.
But why would she be nervous? I thought to myself. If anything I should be nervous, being as that I've been in love with her since the day I first saw her, back in 7th grade when she transferred to our Junior High.
"Well," she started, "I dreamt that I told you I loved you , and I thought you would love me too, but I guess I was wrong, because you rejected me. You said that you didn't care about me, and that you never wanted to see me again."
"Annabeth, is that true? I mean the first part; do you really love me?" I asked.
"Yes," she said,"but I never told you, because I was afraid."
"Afraid of what?" I said, looking straight into her beautiful grey eyes.
"Of losing you." she said, her voice barely audible.
It was then I did something I had always wanted to do. I leaned in, and I kissed her. I could tell she was shocked at first, but as soon as she realized what was happening her lips started to move against mine, and all of my worries and troubles melted away. Our lips fit together perfectly, like they were made for eachother. I pulled away after what seemed like a lifetime, but was probably only a few seconds, and looked straight into her eyes
"Annabeth," I said, "I love you too."
I wrapped my arms around her as I layed down by her side and fell asleep, dreaming of our future to come.
