"Hey!" Yoh said happily walking over to Haruna. He was very happy today. Haruna had been in the hospital for six days now and she had finally been released. She was looking at her watch and drifting off. He stared at her for a moment.

"Hey!" He repeated. Oh how funny it was when she fell over form shock.

"I.. could have died!"

"Could, not would." He said smirking. She thought about that.

"Well.. yeah."

She got up and grabbed his hand.

"Where do you want to go?" She asked smiling.

"The bookstore." He said casually.

She smiled and led the way.

How cute she is.

She turned and smiled again when they passed Asoaka's restruant.

How strange. I didn't know that it was on the way...

He looked at her with growing curiosity.

She smiled only.

Then they passed the park they met at.

Okay.. Now I know something is up...

He looked at her. She practically had happiness oozing out of her body.

. . I won't ask. It would ruin it for her.

Then they passed the Karaoke place that Yoh had saved her from.

Then the ball park where Haruna had caught a baseball.

Again- she only smiled.

She pulled him to a bench in front of the park they met at.

Funny.. I don't remember walking this much.

But he must have. The sun was already fading in the distance slowly. He looked up and saw Haruna smiling at him. Then he realized that they had been holding hands the entire time. He blushed slightly.

She faced him.

"Hey.." She said blushing.

"Yeah?" Suddenly feeling her embarrassment.

"Would you... spend your life with me?" she asked looking down.

HUH?

Yoh stared at her blankly/. There was no ulterior motive.

"Yes." He said hugging her. She wrapped her arms around him and giggled. He felt her tears into his jacket. The rest of the time they simple cuddled.

The sun had gone down. Yoh walked Haruna home. Suddenly feeling as giddy as Haruna usually is. But for some reason she was silent.

She walked up to her porch and waved. He was about to turn the corner when she called out to him.

"YOH!"

"Yes?" He called back.

"I'm.. sorry..."

"Huh?"

"I love you but.. I can't return the promise." then she darted inside.

Yoh drifted back to his house as an empty shell.

I don't understand.. why would she ask and then..?

He fell into a deep sleep with his tears coating his face.

A phone cal woke him up.

It was Fumi.

"Yeah.. (sniff) ..?" He asked.

"Oh.. I (sniff) guess you knew.. (sniff)"

"HUH? Knew what?" Yoh asked wiping his nose.

"Oh.. Well.. Asami is here crying. She went over.. (sniff)"

"Over where?"

"Over to Haruna's. They were going to shop.."

"..yeah?"

"And.. Haruna was diagnosed with a deadly cancer a week ago."
