Hoseok and his members had been busy for months now. He couldn't remember the last time he had gone to visit his family, which made him sad to think about. They had been hard at it practicing intricate dance choreography, recording parts of their new songs, and shooting music videos. This had been after a series of concerts followed by awards shows and interviews. They still had a few more concert dates scattered throughout the month. Exhausted didn't begin to describe how he was feeling. When he watched the members, he was amazed at how well they handled the workload despite being tired. Jungkook always seemed to find more energy somehow. Jimin was taking better care of himself these days. Taehyung and Jin knew how to turn work into fun. Namjoon and Yoongi knew not to push their boundaries where they could help it, seeing as they, along with Hoseok, had the added work of producing and editing the song tracks. It seemed to him that he was the only one who was having a difficult time maintaining a healthy routine. The group had just returned from an exhausting dance practice which had Hoseok on the verge of collapse as he had helped each member with different sections of their choreography. Since he was regarded as one of the most skilled dancers in the group and picked up the choreo very quickly, the members always came to him for pointers. Even Jimin, who was also very skilled in dance, came to Hoseok with high respect for his style of dance. This had made him very proud but was physically demanding for him since he had to repeat the same dance many more times while helping each member individually. Of course, he loved helping his team and would never complain or intentionally show that it was too much for him. He knew they were all tired and always tried his best to keep up morale and stay positive for his members.
Lately, he was feeling himself slipping in small ways. The last three weeks he had felt his energy decline and his concentration falter. During a music video shooting last week, he had zoned out and hadn't heard the director calling his name out several times. It was only when Taehyung tapped his shoulders to get his attention that he realized everyone was looking at him expectantly. While recording several days ago, he lost his place in his verse. He felt his heart skip a beat and his hands shake from anxiety. He had almost never felt this type of nervous anxiety from recording just with his two members in the room. He more often felt an excited energy, eager to perform and express himself, but this time was different. Namjoon and Yoongi had exchanged slightly concerned glances but gave Hoseok the benefit of the doubt when he had chalked it up to just being tired.
Tonight was another one of those slips as he and the members arrived in their dorm, tired and drenched in sweat. Jin went straight to the kitchen to prepare a late supper while waiting for the other members to finish with their showers. Hoseok sat at the corner of his bed and stared at his gym bag until Jimin knocked at the door of their shared room and stepped halfway inside. "Hoseok hyung, the shower is free." He said as he towel dried his hair with one hand. Hoseok registered the statement and stood up to grab a fresh pair of clothes for his shower. Jimin watched him shuffle to the dresser, adding "Supper is almost ready and it smells delicious, so don't be long." with a smile. Hoseok returned a "Thanks" with a weary smile. Jimin lingered in the doorway for a moment as he watched the elder dancer's movements, did a slight nod and made his way down the hall towards the kitchen.
The shower had felt wonderful and relaxed Hoseok's tense muscles. His thoughts washed away with the dirt from a long day. He wanted to stay there longer but didn't want to keep the others waiting. He reluctantly stepped out of the shower and dried himself before putting on a light cotton shirt and jogging pants. He started towards the dining table, although he'd much rather sink into his warm bed and stay there for the next week. He heard the tired laughter and voices of the boys he considered his brothers. "Hoseok! Finally!" Jin teased as he handed the younger a plate full of food. Hoseok eyed the plate and forced himself to put on a smile. "Thank you" he said, taking his plate towards the end of the table to sit next to Yoongi. Supper did look good but he didn't have an appetite tonight. He looked at his plate with some concern and wondered how he could possibly eat all the food. He forced down a few spoonful's while the others continued their conversations. He didn't want to worry them more than they already were about one another. He was quiet while he was eating aside from a few words of confirmation for some changes Yoongi and Namjoon were inquiring about, regarding the upcoming concert. He managed to eat almost half of his supper before he started feeling his eyelids become heavy. He felt his arm slip as he accidentally elbowed Namjoon's arm to his left, startling himself. He looked over to Namjoon, who was surprised but not upset. "I'm sorry Joon," he apologized, "are you okay?" "No worries, it was an accident." Namjoon nodded as he patted Hoseok's forearm. "You look pretty tired, maybe you should go get some sleep," he stood up from his chair. "I'll take care of this." he offered with a small smile as he took Hoseok's plate. Heoseok was relieved he didn't have to finish the plate and nodded. "Thank you" he said almost in a whisper as he stood up from his chair as well. He gave a quick "Good night" to Yoongi and the others and headed towards his room. He heard the other's voices start to taper off and the remaining voices lowered so as not to disturb him as went to sleep. Sleep he did, as soon as he climbed into bed. He didn't have the energy to put his covers on or put his phone on the charger as he quickly fell into a deep sleep.
