Remember when Ling was arrested for illegally entering Amestris? Because I sure do.
Man, having a body again was great, Greed decided.
Just being able to take a stroll down the busy streets of Central; breathing in the fresh air and taking in the scent of the pastel-coloured blooms that lined the railings of the pavement... It seemed it was the little things such as these he had missed the most.
But it had to be said that freedom was even better.
No longer tethered to that chain that held him underground, Greed felt a lot more alive and rejuvenated to be out and about of his own free will, knowing that whereas the others would blindly follow their leader into hell, he was smart enough and independent enough to have his own life. It was one in which that he had the absolute freedom to do what he wanted, go where he wanted and pursue all of the finer things in life he desired so badly.
Oh yeah. It was good to be back. Father's Stone had been a dark, dreary and pretty downright depressing place to be what with all those floating souls, the tormented screams and that horrible, horrible feeling of being confined and condemned.
Not anymore though. Right now he was taking a bit of a breather from his newly formed gang (honestly, Edward was starting to do his head in and if he was going to remain sane for the length of time they'd be together then he needed a very well-deserved break), casually wandering about the streets and hoping to effectively pass the time a little bit quicker. It was enjoyable, to put it simply. The freedom felt good, this body felt good, he felt good for the first time in what felt like an eternity.
He grinned cheekily at a woman who from across the road sent him a coy wave. A wink had her giggling into her hand and her cheeks stained the colour of the roses hanging outside the shop she worked in.
Greed mentally praised his unbelievable stroke of luck. This had indeed been the perfect body and he couldn't believe how fortunate it was that he had found it. Seriously. It was young, strong and muscular - absolutely ideal should the occasion call for any hand-to-hand combat or other physically demanding tasks. Ling's body was incredibly well looked after, being apparently 'sacred' according to the kid himself, and what's more his exotic Xingese appearance had the ladies falling at his feet! What more could the homunculus have possibly asked for? A measly little body like that Fullmetal runt? That awkwardly bulky chunk of metal called Alphonse? And then there was that tiny little girl who'd looked completely smitten with the armour-boy.
Nope. All others could step aside. Ling's durable, fresh, and lady-killer body was simply the bes-

"What the-"
"Ling Yao?"
Greed narrowed his eyes in confusion and stopped in his tracks. Looking down at the cuffs that had miraculously appeared on his wrist, he rephrased his question.
"What the fuck?"
The Officer roughly yanked on the metal. "Ling Yao! Resident of Xing, correct?"
Greed was simply perplexed. "What in the name of God do you-"
"You're comin' with me," the Officer began to forcibly drag him off in the opposite direction. "Think you can just up n' leave the detention centre, kid? You're comin' right back, ya hear?"
Wait a minute...
Oh that fucking little Xingese brat.
A warning would have been nice!
"I-Immigrant?" With his very best efforts he tugged back on the cuffs and snapped at the man. "Oi! Do you have any idea what kind of mistake you've-"
"Hold up, folks! Illegal immigrant comin' through!"
As he was dragged, humiliated and fuming through the crowd of shoppers, Greed made a mental note.
Murder the kid.
Inside the Stone, Ling denied all claims of illegal activity.
But he'd get the lying little rat later.
