"Pound it!" Ladybug and Chat Noir grinned as they did their usual fistbump after defeating the akuma of the day.
Beep! Beep!
They jumped as Ladybug's earrings and Chat Noir's ring both beeped in alarm that their time was running out and they only has a few minutes left before changing back to who they really where.
"That's my que to leave! See you around, Chat Noir!" Ladybug waved and turned around to leave only to stop when she felt a clawed hand grab her wrist.
Looking back she saw her partner's pained green eyes looking back at her.
"My lady... Please stay." he begged her and her heart stung.
She knew that ever since they met Chat had wanted to know who she was and that she'd know who he was.
Despite how she always denied the chance, she herself was also very curious.
Who was Chat Noir behind the mask?
Did he behave the same when he was his normal self? Was his hair always so messy? Did they know each other in thei civilian lives?
She knew he wanted them to reveal themselves and she honestly wanted to too but she was scared.
She said she was scared of what would happen if Hawkmoth somehow found out and that was true but she was also scared of something else.
She was scared that they wouldn't like each other or more so that Chat wouldn't like her.
She was scared he'd be disappointed in who she really was instead of someone amazing.
Chat was her best friend and she didn't want to lose him, especially while she needed him to protect Paris too.
Still, she felt it would be selfish to keep hiding behind her mask while he longed to know who she was behind it.
After they defeat Hawkmoth she would allow them to reveal themselves.
Without Hawkmoth there wouldn't be danger anymore.
Even if they'd end up leaving each other, at least they'd both be save along with the people they knew.
"Patience, Kitty. After we defeat Hawkmoth. Then I'll show you who I am." she told him, gently pulling her arm free from his grip.
"Purr-omise?" he asked with a small sad smile and she nodded.
"Alright. This cat can be patient till then." he sighed,obviously disappointed but understanding and respecting her decision.
To thank him for it she pulled him closer and hugged him.
She felt him stiffen before returning the favor and gently hugging her back.
When their miraculous beeped again they slowly pulled away and shared another sad smile.
Chat bent down and kissed her hand in goodbye like he had done many times before and they finally went their seperate ways.
One day they would know who the other was.
Untill then they just needed to have some patience.
