There were days when he couldn't think clearly for missing her, and then there were days when he couldn't walk straight for thinking about her food and longing to be home in time for the next meal. On those days, everything reminded him of the feasts his beloved Piper created. The scent of the sea reminded him of her homemade clam chowder soup and made his mouth water for her seafood. A cow suddenly looked like a slab of juicy beef dripping in succulent barbecue sauce.
His mind recollected all the wondrous things she could make from eggs with but the sight of one bird passing by overhead. Water made him long for sweet tea and lemonade, and the cold caused him to ache to wrap his hands around a steaming hot mug and his mouth beg to delve into the reassuring warmth of hot chocolate. Not a single restaurant he passed by, wherever he was, from California to Paris, could offer even a fraction of what he had waiting at home.
Even the clouds took on a different meaning. The white masses swirling above his head reminded him of the creations she breathed life into with a touch of whipped cream. His reminiscent smile turned suddenly devilish. No cream had ever tasted better than that which he had licked off of her beautiful breasts the night she had treated him to a very special breakfast in bed! He moaned aloud at the memory and caved.
His mission would have to wait until later, he thought, vanishing from the lonely streets of the unfamiliar neighborhood and reappearing in one of the places he loved most, the warm and inviting kitchen of the Halliwell manor. He wrapped his arms around his love and rubbed his front against her back. "What's for dinner?" he whispered, nuzzling her ear.
Piper turned in her husband's arms and met him with a kiss. "Whatever you like, sweetheart, if you're staying home the rest of the night."
"There's nowhere else I'd rather be." He lifted her into his arms and spun her about while kissing her deeply. Now he was in his favorite place in the whole world for he had his Piper in his arms!
The End
