Enclosed on Hogwarts grounds is a glass coffin. It's hidden deep in the forbidden forest. Only the teachers and a few, very knowledgeable, students know about it and its story.
In the days of the founders a brilliant and beautiful witch came to Hogwarts. Sorted into Hufflepuff she made friends with everyone and every creature who came to the school. But one of the founders daughters hated her. Professor Ravenclaw had the girl in transfiguration. The moment the dark haired, pale skinned, ruby lipped beauty walked in she hated her. The girl got so much attention from everyone and all of it undeserved.
As the girl grew older she became more aware of Ravenclaw's hate. At first she didn't understand it and vowed to work harder to earn, at least, her tolerance. But at 17, she caught the eye of the Baron, Ravenclaw's love. This enraged Ravenclaw for ,despite harboring no feelings for the man, she loved his affection and devotion.
Helena Ravenclaw had never equated her mother's talents and wisdom. No one ever held her in high regard for anything other than her job, her beauty, and her name. They paid no attention to her skills, to her power. Helena was determined to prove her greatness. Now, Snow White was in her way, and taking away her primary source of attention.
The end of the school year was nearing, something would have to be done quickly. So Helena stalked her, followed her, and debated how to finish her. The girl routinely wandered the corridors with house elves. Helping them clean and keeping them company. A plan began to form.
Helena began to brew the Draught of Living Death. But she changed the recipe enough to insure that no one would be able to wake her. She put the blackness of her soul into the potion. Her plan was to have a house elf deliver it, and make sure that she took it.
The last day of exams arrived and with it, Snow's celebratory Draught. The elf delivered and the girl drank. The castle experienced a huge scandal. Her mother encased the girl in the gold and glass coffin. With protections that only the elves could lift for one who knew the story and how to break the spell. Rowena knew the secret but even her power couldn't break Snow from her sleep. Her charms would keep her alive until that day.
Two years later Helena was murdered by her dedicated lover after stealing her mother's diadem.
Thousands of years later a young slytherin stumbled across her story in the ruins of the library. A great battle had just been fought and won. The boy was alone. He took off into the forest with the paper clutched in his hand.
Her eyes fluttered open. The elf set to guard her stood by smiling. Her eyes found a somber, yet hopeful looking young, blond, man.
"I'm Draco. Nice to meet you"
