The Summer Olympics

Prologue: Announcement

Year 297

Aselian Calendar

"The Games of the 26th Symphonia Olympiad in the year of 304 are awarded to the city…"

As the president of the Inter-worldly Olympic Committee, Nathanial Luoge prolonged his announcement; his attendant was in the midst of passing the long-awaited sealed envelope towards him.

"Of…"

Almost all eyes, ears and care in the world were transfixed on him as he formally opened the letter's flap, except for a few who just couldn't care less, yet would care enough to awaken this city that is the "sleeping serpent's" wrath from Naborean Ponabarte travels in time to come.

"Mizuho!"

The entire stadium of people exploded in a fireworks display towards the heavens. And all it took for them to outshine anyone else who didn't contribute to such ecstasy was to leave them in their seats. Though, this was no ordinary flare-up, since not only were there a medley of colours, shapes and sizes and the performance itself, but the intensity of it all.

Politics was his name and taking you aback, kicking you in the teeth, sending you flying to the ninth cloud of the seventh heaven, yet at the same time hugging you with love and kissing you with adoration was his game. Or at least in this particular situation it is.

I can't believe my ears…!

For it was such a feeling that left them so speechless that can only be expressed through shouting, hugging, smiling and crying tears of over-joy. While flags of their homeland and the Olympics streaked across the entire arena, the VIP was the only ones who had to conduct their behaviour with more dignity.

And yet, I can!

The main feeling that fuelled all of this wasn't just the fact that they were, at the very least, seemingly accepted politically, but deeper and most important than that was their cultural acceptance by people not of their heritage…Especially since most of the members of the Inter-worldly Olympic Committee comprised of celestial beings, not really the "angels" of the Lifeless Beings Movement, but from another world beyond that.

Just… Wow…! I really wish… Corrine was here… and…

People back home at Mizuho, including Altessa, some officials from Ozette and abroad, the many that had the prospect of experiencing this at the technologically advanced and equipped Tethe'alla and Sylvarant Bases also responded in almost the same magnitude. As they had the only projectors in the world and Mizuho's Intelligence Network were all capable of delivering this news the moment it took place.

Kuchinawa…

However, dignity still had its limits, seeing as how one very important person's decision to stand up from one row behind the chief of Mizuho and take the step forward to tap her on the shoulder would further amplify this momentous occasion. It was at this very moment, did Sheena, who was about to turn around to see with her very eyes who tapped her, did her lips do it all for her, as they met a pair of passionate lips and tongue while being fiercely pulled towards none other than, the Great Zelos Wilder.

What!?

With this simple sentence uttered by the Inter-worldly Olympic Committee, there was enough going on from within her enough as it was already, but to make matters more complicated and heart-pounding, she took no time at all to embrace this. She shook her brain, as it would have been impossible to shake anyone's head while having your lips locked in place by a stubborn, red-haired, cross-dressing, skirt-chasing idiot of a Chosen and yet…

Aw… What the heck! Who cares!

…Went with it…

And with that, Sheena's family that she travelled most of her life with was left speechless. Or rather four people were indifferent. One was completely giddy as she squealed with her happy-go-lucky smile, bounced up and down precariously and clapped her hands enough to create a whisper of a movement. And two other people had their big gaping jaws dropped entirely to the ground with huge jagged teeth and eyes bulged out.

As the two best friends took a glance at each other to confirm what they saw, they looked back at the two lovebirds and back at each other again until they were finally sure enough to make a comment about it.

"Lloyd…I still can't believe it…" Genis said as if he had just finished watching an exciting match between his idol of a past genius, Alben Stein up against his idol of a present genius, Qian Gates.

"I know Genis… Neither can I…" Lloyd responded as if he had also just finished watching an equally exciting match between his idol of a past sports player, Jordan Michael up against his idol of a present sports player, Shack O'Neyo.

"Aw, come on guys…" Colette came in unexpectedly; "I think it's great!" she said insightfully as looked towards Zelos and Sheena.

"Blech…" Lloyd and Genis did a gagging motion as they looked at each other with ridiculing faces.

"Well… Say what you will!" Colette retorted, "I still support Sheena all the way!"

While the three childhood best friends continued with their non-VIP-like joking manner, they were contrasted by three kinds of lethargy. The most expected and understandable one was Kratos, as he was standing crossed-arms, one-eyed, sealed-lips and practically motionless-everything. It had almost seemed as if all wind or external forces were void in his personal bubble.

As for Raine and Regal, their tedium followed a simple jolt of the eyes from a sagging position and that was about it... However, unlike Kratos, at this current moment, they could still be moved by the simplest of actions and words.

And finally, the only other youth who didn't take part in making fun of and listening to Colette's rambling of how she always knew Zelos and Sheena would get together somehow, Presea was probably the most adorable of apathy of all. For it wasn't a matter of not having the will to feel anything regarding this, but any capabilities, as she couldn't understand it.

And already, 7 years prior to the actual day where a symbolic cauldron will be lit by an equally symbolic torch, a fervent fire was a-burning in this huge cauldron that is the Meltokio Coliseum.

Meanwhile… In a lone islet a little ways away from Mizuho, sat a meditative Kuchinawa. His body was in a Zen position with his mind and spirit wishing he could return to the good ol'-days and also celebrate with his family
