Bella, I've Imprinted...
Okay, I was innocently reading Twilight fanfiction, when this popped into my head and started singing 'Write me! Write me!' – and I never ignore singing thoughts...so here's what I wrote...it isn't really funny, but...yeah...R&R, please.
(note: This is my second Twilight FF – constructive criticism welcome)
Disclaimer: I don't own Twilight, or any of the characters within the Twilight series. Stephenie Meyer does.
Bella's POV
Bring. Bring.
I jogged down the stairs to the phone, tripping on the last step, as usual. Edward had gone hunting with the rest of the Cullens, and was due back very shortly and Charlie was on yet another fishing trip. I was on my own.
Bring. Bring.
"Alright, already – I'm coming, I'm coming." I muttered, picking myself off the floor.
Bring. Bring. The trill of the phone seemed to be impatient.
"Hello?"
"Bells?"
I brightened up, "Jake! Hi, how are you?"
"Yeah, I'm good, thanks...listen, Bella, I've imprinted..."
I grinned, "That's great, Jacob – who is it?"
"Well...You know when we first met, down at First Beach?"
"Yeah."
"Well, you know that girl that asked you about the bloodsuckers?"
I blinked, recalling the day,
"Bella," Lauren called, watching my face carefully, "I was just saying to Tyler that it was too bad none of the Cullens could come out today..."
"Lauren? You...you imprinted...on...Lauren?" I stuttered.
"Um...yes..."
I stared blindly out of the kitchen window, in shocked silence.
"Bella? Bella, Are you still there? It's Lauren, yes. I imprinted on Lauren."
For some strange reason, I burst out laughing.
"Bella? Are you okay?" Jacob asked, worriedly.
I gasped, catching my breath, "You imprinted on Lauren?" I asked again, I was still trying to grasp the fact that Lauren was in this at all. Lauren, the girl who hated me from the very first day I arrived in Forks.
"Yes." He clarified, "Bella – are you sure you're okay?"
I smothered another fit of giggles, "I'm fine, Jake – when? How?"
"Um, last night, and I bumped into her at First Beach."
"Ah, right, cool, well, good for you, Jacob – I have to go. Sorry." I could see Edward's Volvo pulling into the drive.
"Oh, okay, Bells – bye. Oh, and Bella?"
"Hm?"
"Thanks."
Although I didn't really know why he said 'thanks', I laughed lightly, "What are best friends for? Congratulations with Lauren...bye."
"Bye."
The phone went dead.
I burst out laughing again, falling off my chair with a load crash. Edward was there in seconds.
"Bella, are you-...Bella, why are you on the floor?"
I tried to pick myself up, still laughing, "Sorry, Edward." I spluttered, "Jacob just called, he, " I shook with laughter, "he's imprinted on...on...Lauren!"
Edward looked at me like I was insane, "Lauren...from school, Lauren?"
I wiped the tears of laughter from my face and nodded.
He looked amused, his golden eyes glinting. And started laughing.
Later – Charlie arrives home
Charlie's POV
I parked the cruiser and put the fish I had caught in the garage freezer.
From inside the house, I could hear laughing. Bella's soft laughter, and a musical, yet booming laughter. Edward Cullen was here – I hadn't even registered his car being here when I parked up.
I walked in through the door, into the kitchen.
I looked from Bella, to Edward, who were both in fits of laughter, on the floor.
"Um, Bells – what's going on?"
Tell me what you think, yah?
