AN: So I was looking through my journal the other night and found this, I figure I wrote this after Impossible Astronaut but before we found out who River was, but that being said this fic takes place somewhere between that episode and when they get married, I think...yeah, time travel gives me a headache. Hope you guys like it. :)
Disclaimer: Doctor Who is definitely not mine, I am just playing with 11 and River and will put them back when I am done, and really suing me will get you nowhere, I am but a poor college student with an overactive imagination.

The doctor stepped outside of the TARDIS with an air of overwhelming confidence, which he did not feel at all. He was doing a date thing; it had been at least 300 years since he had done a date thing. It could all blow up in his face in spectacular fashion, he was used to things blowing up, but he liked it better when they didn't. This being his first date with River Song, it probably wasn't her first date with him; she had to have high expectations. He wanted it to be perfect. So it was probably a bad idea to start out a relationship, or middle a relationship, with a joke, but what the hell, "Geronimo" was his motto.
"Sweetie, can I come out now." River called from within the TARDIS.
"Yes, but keep the blindfold on." He wrung his hands half to expel nervous energy, half in excitement.
"You know we could have fun with this blindfold if we stayed in tonight, love." She felt her way outside the doors, opening out the way. She felt him grab her hand, figuring he was helping her avoid a fall.
Once she was out and clear of the doors, the Doctor took River by the shoulders adjusting her so she had a perfect view of the colorful marquee ahead of them. Once he deemed her placement perfect he slowly undid the knot of the blindfold, letting it fall from her eyes.
Leaning forward he whispered into her ear, "Surprise."
She gasped and stared ahead a bit stunned, but then she turned to look at her Doctor over her shoulder, a scowl on her face, that didn't mask the twinkle in her eyes, she whispered back, "I hate you."
He smiled in return, "No you don't"
Still stunned she asked, "Is this what I think it is."
A switch seemed to turn on in the Doctor as he went into full adventure mode, which usually meant running and twirling and rapid fact exposition, as he proclaimed, "It is exactly what you think! The date is December 22, 1967, we are at the cinema premiere of The Graduate."
"You know, I should be offended right now."
"But you're not."
"You're right; I'm not, cheeky man. It is fitting though."
"It is! Seeing as this is our first date and all, well my first date with you."
"Well come along then Benjamin."
He adjusted his bow tie with a flair, stepped up next to her, sweeping his arm out in grand gesture, "After you, Mrs. Robinson."
River giggled, grabbing his arm so she could press into his side, and with an enthusiasm that fit her younger self she pulled him into the theater with her. She knew that this meant she did not have many dates left with her love but strangely enough didn't mind in the least, she learned through her crazy wibbly wobbly life to make the most of every moment, and maybe, if she was very lucky the night would end with a really good snog.
