This man I barely know is more of a father than my real one ever was he has taken care of me for months now. I have grown to care for him very much maybe to even to the point where I would give up my own immortal soul for his safety. He is slowly forgetting everything about his own life. Slowly losing his sanity and grasp on human life.

In the first few days of us meeting he told me about his life before the crown was placed in his possession. He told me his name was Simon Petrikov he had been studying to become an antiquarian he told me about his fiancée Betty who had left him when he acquired the crown. She left him when he most needed her.

He must have gotten the crown many years ago because he showed me a picture of him before getting the crown he was coming out of a car holding a very strange big book. His fiancée Betty was in the car she looked calm and happy with him. Simon to me always looked like a musician from the 60's.

Simon looked at me and smiled he got something from his pocket. We had been living of what was left of a city for the past few days Simon looked at me and said "Here before I forget, Marceline." Those words sounded intentional he wanted to be literal with those words. I looked at the plain simple envelope and opened it. What was inside the envelope was a picture of me when we first met. I looked up at him to his snow white eyes. "It's a picture?" I said "Turn it around and read it." He said giving me a slight smile. I turned the picture around He had written me a letter. I began to read it.

When I was done I could feel warm tears streaming down my face I wanted to stop because of him I didn't want him to see me weak. I could tell Simon didn't care if I cried he just gingerly moved his hand towards my face and removed a single tear. "It's ok to cry crying is natural." Simon said calmly. "No it's not ok to cry because you will not forget I'll make sure of that I will help you to not forget all that has happened." She yelled at Simon. He stared at her for a few moments thinking about the words he would say to the little girl. "Marceline haven't you noticed that my mind is slipping from me, I will be gone soon, but as long as you don't forget me I will be fine in life and so will you, Hambo will make sure you have my memories." He said holding the dark pink teddy bear he had given her in the first few moments they met.

Marceline looked at him and nodded she knew that she would make new friends but they would all die and she would still live on forever. Marceline knew he would also live forever but what good would that be after all his memories of her would be gone he wouldn't remember these moments they would see each other but he wouldn't know the little girl that once was. But she knew he was her one true friend even though he didn't know.

Marceline hugged him she held back the urge to call him daddy but she let tears flow down her face she would only remember these good moments with him. He hugged her back and they left the city to head to the forest. She held Hambo in one hand and the letter in the other.
