A/N: Not much to say really.

It seems that everyone believes that when something bad happens, it doesn't necessarily mean that the world is ending. I used to agree with those people, and I still do, up to a point. Most bad things don't end the world, a fact.

You may have noticed that I said used to.

When Roy died, the world didn't end. A meteor didn't crash into the Earth and eliminate the human race. The ozone layer didn't suddenly dissolve, and our world did not begin to burn. Everyone is still here, still living, going about their lives like nothing's wrong.

But I loved Roy. I loved him with all my heart, all my soul, all my everything. When Roy died, I was still here. My heart, my soul, my everything, well, everything but my true love, still existed. He was my whole reason for existing, he was my life, and he was my world.

Losing him was the worst thing that could ever have happened to me, not the world, me. After all, I loved him.

"Raven." Robin had joined me, looking up at the statue, the same memorial that I was staring at.

We remained silent; we were here for the same reason, after all, to mourn the man that we had loved. We had both loved Roy, in different ways of course, but still. I knew he was the only one who could possibly understand what I was feeling.

"He was a good man; he would've wanted to end this way, helping the people of Earth."

"Since when have we ever given him what he wanted?" I commented wryly, but for the first time in years, my tone wasn't emotionless; it was filled with pain and suffering.

"He wanted to be with you, and he got that."

"He will always have me. When I die, I want you to bury me here."

"Raven—"

"Promise me."

"But—"

"Promise."

He sighed. "I promise, but it's not your time yet. We saved the planet, Raven. It isn't the end of the world."

"Richard…he was my world. The end of the world had finally come, but only I seem to care."

I opened up a portal and slipped into before he could answer. I went home to the small apartment that Roy and I had shared…before. The end of the world meant the end of the people on it. My world had ended, so naturally, I must join it. But how to do it. I didn't want to use guns or blades; it would be too messy, and I wanted a neat death.

I caught sight of the bed, and inspiration finally came to me. I pulled off the sheet and tied it around the shower head. Then I made the other end into a noose. Before I did the deed, I unlocked the door to my house and called Robin, telling him to get here as soon as possible. I wrote a note for him and taped it to the wall. There was only one thought that echoed in my mind after that.

I'm coming, Roy. I'm coming, my love.

Robin barged into the apartment shortly after.

"Raven!" he yelled.

He went into her bedroom, noticing immediately that the bathroom door was open and the bed unmade. He peeked into the bathroom and sank to his knees. It was too late to save her. A note by her lifeless body caught his eye, and he stood up. There were only four words.

Don't forget your promise.

Everyone had regrouped all over again to watch them bury the second body and erect the second statue, and it seemed all but one was shedding tears. The two stood side by side, and Raven's hand had been formed perfectly to slide into Speedy's. They were together at last, so Robin felt there was no need to cry.
