So I was getting frustrated with the lack of 'Moira supporting Cain' scenes at the moment, what with everything going on with Chas & Sarah and Cain's part in that.
So here's the scene we've all been waiting for!
Cain walked through the door that evening having just got back from the hospital visiting Sarah and Debbie. And it was safe to say that he was stressed out.
"Hiya Love, how was Sarah?!" Moira asked-him calmly.
He shut the front door behind him, took off his coat, then sat down at the table and put his head into his hands.
"Not good I'm guessing?!" Moira said as she walked over-to where Cain was sat, stood behind him and started to massage his shoulders. "Wanna talk about it?!" She asked.
"Debbie's in a state as it is and now Sarah's refusing to have anymore treatment." Cain revealed.
Moira sighed. After everything they had been through in the past few weeks, that was bound to be a hard blow for the family. "Why would she do that when the treatment is what could save her?!"
"She pretty much told Debbie that if she's gonna die anyway then she wants to die at home." Cain said, close to tears, but fighting them off as Moira moved-around to sit by him, holding his hand as she did-so.
She paused as she thought about what to say. "And how did Debbie take the news?!"
"She's in pieces." Cain replied.
"As would I be if it were one of mine…" Moira trailed-off.
Cain sighed. "I'm sorry…Look, you don't need this, not after everything you went through after Holly."
"No it's okay. Me losing Holly will help me to support you now." Moira said.
"I'm not the one who needs the support." Cain said.
"Of course you are." Moira replied. "I know you Cain Dingle. I know that you like to act all hard and tough to the outside world, but I know you. I know what's in here." Moira said, putting her hand over his heart.
"What are you talking about? I am all hard and tough. It's not an act. I'm not Ross." Cain joked.
Moira laughed before pausing as she brought the topic of conversation back. "But seriously though Cain, if you need me…I'm here for you…Always." She re-assured him.
Cain leaned-in and kissed Moira on the lips. "Thank You." He said with a small smile.
