After an extended debate with myself (I know, I'm kinda creepy), I've decided to write a sequel to A Torturous Wedding, I'm thinking I'm gonna title it An Afterimage. Not sure how everyone will receive it, so I'm just gonna start with a short prologue. If I get more than 5 positive reviews, I'm gonna write an entire story.
Recap for those who haven't read A Torturous Wedding: Tessa was to marry Jem, yet before the wedding, she slept with both Will and Jem. Then, Mortmain crashed their wedding, both Jem and Mortmain died. After three years, Will reunited with Tessa and her children, Harriet and William.
If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
Job 14:12-15
The clouds have finally passed, revealing the almost full moon. The moon was the color of bone, and the light was showering down London, brightening most part of the city's streets and buildings. The light hit the surface of River Thames, and it continued to flow with the warm moist wind blowing, like satin flows down skin.
The hooded figure stood silently, observing while the hidden face seems to darken in the rising light. It crouched down and emerged one hand in the shimmering water.
As the Big Ben strikes midnight, the low ring echo through the city, and the moonlight around the hand start to condense, rising to a humanoid shape.
The hooded figure stepped backwards, dropping the hood, waiting for the details of the body to rest in.
The pair of grey eyes stared intently at the man's blue eyes.
"Hello, Jem."
