Back Story:

Hanako was born in a wealthy family. Her family members were all Hunters who had good ties with the Hunter Association and the Zoldyck family. She lives with her parents (Augustus Cyril Elaraveth and Lovella Antonette Elaraveth), her 5 younger brothers (Derick Ezekiel, Fedirico Carson, Rosendo Lucius, Charles Isaac, Cornelius Meyer Elaraveth), and grandparents (Neil Clark Elaraveth and Elaina Lynsey Elaraveth) in a mansion. Her parents' friends would consider them lucky because of their beautiful, obedient, and caring child. She learned to fight using the sword when she was 4 and mastered it at the age of 7. She learned nen at 5, and mastered it when she was 6.

When she was 10, she overheard a conversation of her parents and grandparents. It was about her older brother, who she never knew about. They said he had been missing for 12 years. After hearing this, she begged her parents to let her take the Hunter Exam. They refused, because of the fear that the same will happen to her. She tried different ways of letting them accept, which made her become a persuasive person. After two years of persuading her parents. They finally agreed on one condition, she should master her nen abilities.

Nen Abilities:

Aura Wave - a surge of aura is released and can destroy anything in a 100 meter radius (she can choose on who and what not to attack).

Devil's Eye - when she covers her right eye with her right hand, she is given information on a certain person she chooses.

The Healer's Plea - she can heal anyone with any injury and sickness, only if she wishes for the person to be healed.

Icarus Mass Destruction - she controls an invisible ship which can destroy a group of buildings in an instant (depending on how much she wants to destroy something)

Sinful Ears - she can conversations and thoughts of various people (involuntarily and voluntarily)

It has been one year since my parents agreed to do this, well to take the Hunter Exams that is. In that one year, I have been mastering my nen, which was one of my parents' conditions with me. I am really curious about what will happen soon, since it has been a few hours since I left and I should be getting closer to the Exam site. No, more like 'we', since the eldest son of the Zoldycks, Illumi also had chosen to take the Hunter Exam. Our parents decided that we should go together since we are childhood friends and it's to avoid tedious tasks or so they say. I gaze at him, his eyes look like they never shut, it is pretty creepy even though he was like that since he was a child. I still can't get used to that.

"What," he caught me staring at him.

"N-Nothing," I turn my head away as I said this.

It has been awkward ever since we were in the car and when we got off. We were already at Zaban City. I heard that the Exam site is located there. We walked through merchants and buildings. I sigh as I think that my adventure with him will finally end. We stopped in our tracks in front of a restaurant.

"Illumi-san, are you hungry?" I tease

"What are you saying? Our main priority is to get to the Exam site, isn't it?" his replies have become a bit aloof.

"Yeah, I got it," I close my eyes in defeat.

We then entered the building the smell of meat was very pungent. Illumi was talking to the chef or something like that. Before I even realized we were allowed to enter the back room. How did he know what to say or more likely the code. Well, at least we're at the Exam site now. We entered the room, the room started to move. So, it was an elevator. Illumi started inserting his needles into his head, in no time he looked like a different person. I don't know what he does that for, but I like to think of it as a hobby of doors open and lead into a tunnel of some sort. We were both his given badges his was #301 and mine was #302. They were a few hundreds of men who joined this year. I followed Illumi around the room. It's pretty easy because of his height. I informed Illumi that I would be walking around by myself for a while. I persistently looked for someone I know. I saw silver-haired boy standing with a skateboard under his arm. I walked over to him of course he knew me. He's younger than me so I should be a bit more caring. I tap his shoulder with one finger.

"Hey, Killua-kun," he turns to me. He had a surprised look on his face.

"Violet, what are you doing here?"

"What do you think?" I pouted. I then hit his head.

"What was that for?" he asked me.

"I heard that you cut up your mom. Seriously you're too reckless," I placed my hands on my hips.

I feel someone's gaze looking at me. I turn to where it came from. Illumi was waiting in one corner of the room. Seriously, he should be more patient.

"I got to go someone is waiting for me,"

"Yeah," he said waving his hands

I can't believe someone like him is related to Illumi. Before I could reach Illumi, I was approached by a man wearing grey sweatpants, a grey sweatshirt with a sleeveless blue shirt, he was #16. "You're new here aren't you?" I cover my right eye with my right hand. Information started flowing into my head. "How do you know?" I ask, slowly taking my hand off. "Of course, since this is my thirty-fifth attempt, so you could call me an Exam veteran. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. I'm Tonpa," he extends his hand to me. "Yes I am aware, my name Hanako. I am pleased to meet you," I said sarcastically. He seems surprised at first. He then gave information about the other participants. The scream of a man made us turn our head to him. His arms were slowly turning into flower petals. "Oh, how peculiar, his arms seem to have become flower petals. No smoke and mirrors here. Do take care. When you bump into someone, you really should apologize," a clown-looking man said. "That psychopath is back again. Number 44, Hisoka the Magician, last year he was a virtual lock to pass the test. Until he all but killed an examiner he didn't like," he mentioned while we staring at the magician. "Oh yeah, a little something to celebrate our acquaintance," he smiled at me and handed me the drink. I could hear his thoughts, looks like the drink had a laxative in it, I grin. "Hey, Tonpa-san, it wouldn't be a good idea if I were the only one to drink. Why don't we both drink it?" he gave me an awkward grin. "No, I'm fine you can drink it yourself," he replied sounding very humble. "If so, why do you put poisons in another person's drink? Would you like me to put some in your drink, Tonpa the Rookie Crusher," he balled up his fist. I leave with a grin and head to Illumi.

"Where have you been?" he asks me.

"What are you really intending to do here?"

"The same of yours of course,"

"I saw your brother. Do you really want him to return?"

"Oh, Kill is here? Looks like I found another reason to come here,"

"Do what ever you want. I don't care on what your intentions are. I won't be back until the First Phase ends. So don't go looking for me," I left and looked for someone to talk to. I saw a green-haired boy, a blonde, and an old man, they seemed like an interesting bunch. I walk over to the bunch. "Hello," I whisper in the boy's ear. He turns to me, I grinned at the boy. "Hello, I'm Violet," I extend my hand to him. "I'm Gon, and this is Kurapika and Leorio, nice to meet you," he grabs my hand, such an innocent boy. "Hey, Gon! You can't just trust a stranger who we don't know anything about," the man named Leorio said. I look at the blonde and grinned. He turned away for some reason. "Eh, why not? She seems friendly enough," The boy said. We were distracted by the sound of a bell. We turned to where the sound is coming from. The wall was raised and revealed a man with lavender hair. "I apologize for the wait. The entry period for Hunter applicants has ended. The Hunter Exam will now begin," anticipation and excitement filled me. "A final caution, if you are short on luck or ability you could very well end up seriously injured or even dead. Those who accept the risks, follow me. Otherwise, please exit via the elevator behind you," of course not one of us wanted to back down when we already got this far. "Very well, all 404 applicants will participate in Phase One," he turned around and started walking, of course, we all followed him. "Of course, no one turned around and left. I'd hoped a few might withdraw," Leorio said. After a while we started running.

"Wh-what?"

"The people in front started running,"

"He's picked up the pace,"

"I neglected to introduce myself. I am Satotz, the Phase One examiner. I shall lead you to the exam's Second Phase,"

"Phase Two? What about the Phase One?" a ninja-looking man questions.

"It has already commenced," the man named Satotz replied

The other applicants were shocked at his reply.

"You must follow me to Phase Two. This is the exam's First Phase,"

"Follow you? That's it?" he asks again

"Yes, I cannot tell where or when you must arrive. You must follow me," Satotz said.

"I see how it is,"

"This test is weird,"

"I expect it's an endurance test. Fine by me. I'll be right behind you," they said on after the other. "But there is the mental stress of not knowing how far we'll have to run. He's also testing our mental fortitude,"

"You are very knowledgeable Kurapika-san, you're right that's what this test is for,"
