This is a one-shot that takes place just after Tsunade comes back to the village and Sasuke decided to seek out Orochimaru on his own. I guess if you wanted to, you could call this a prequel to IOFON.

Summary: He never wanted to leave the blond haired Dobe. But to secure his future with his blonde haired kitsune, he had to deal with past: Itachi. And that meant that not even Naruto could keep him from leaving. A side-fic to If Only For One Night.

In Konoha hospital laid one seething Sasuke Uchiha. Rage coursed through his body at the thought of Naruto advancing by leaps and bounds while he seemed stuck in one place. His mind wandered back to the encounter he had with his brother, who seemed to be after Naruto. His bastard of a brother whom was the reason that he laid in a genjutsu state for ages until the new Hokage, the world renowned medic Tsunade, had healed him. And now he sat, thinking of that low-life who shared his last name and how he effortlessly took him down.

"You're weak, Sasuke," said the elder raven, leaning in to whisper in his otouto's ear, "you don't have enough hatred and you know what? You never will."

Recalling his brother's words made the raven even angrier as the truth slowly sank into his head. "I'll never be strong enough to kill Itachi at this pace. I need more. If that dobe could improve by so much, why can't I?" he wondered as he turned his head to the right to see that Sakura was indeed still sitting at the chair beside his bed. He had hoped that after not talking to her at all that she would get the point and leave.

But no such luck.

And so he went back to wondering how Itachi knew about Naruto and why the elder Uchiha seemed to be after his fox. Wait, what?! No, Naruto wasn't his fox and he didn't want him to be.

Ignoring the traitorous voice in the back of his head that was telling him that he was a big liar, he turned on his side away from his pink haired teammate and closed his eyes. Sleep was a better idea than obsessing over something that he can't control, right?

Of course, the Universe just loved to play cruel jokes on Sasuke and just as he was drifting off into the world of dreams, the door opened a little too loudly, jarring him back to consciousness. Groaning, he turned preparing to send the poor fool that interrupted his sleep a death glare that he hoped would burn them to cinders.

However, his glare faltered when he saw who it was. The source of his jealousy, standing in the doorway in all his blonde hair tanned glory.

"Hey, Sasuke-teme," he said, smiling slightly, "how are you feeling?"

"Hn. Okay. What about you, loser?" He didn't know why he added the loser part to end; it just kind of slipped out of his mouth naturally. The sudden bitterness that he suddenly saw in the blonde's eyes bothered him for some reason though.

"I'm peachy bastard. Unlike you, I seemed to have healed overnight."

This earned him a hit to the head from Sakura.

A week had passed since they released Sasuke from the hospital and he figured that a good night's sleep would do him some good. However, two hours after his head had hit the pillow, he found himself waking with a start. The nightmares just wouldn't end. He kept seeing their bodies littering the streets as he ran to his house to see his mother and father dead and Itachi over their bodies. The images that bastard had shown him through his Mangekyou would forever haunt his dreams until the day he died.

"I have to get stronger. As long as I'm in this village, it'll never happen so I need to leave." The raven thought to himself as he packed what little clothes he had and then his weapons and other supplies. When that was all done, he knew there was only one thing left to do. He needed to visit Naruto one last time before he left.

As he slipped his shoes on and took the route to the blonde's apartment, he whispered a silent prayer hoping that once everything was said and done, that he would have forgiveness.

As Naruto was entering the world of dreams, he heard a knock at his door which startled the poor blonde out his peaceful slumber and he found himself on the floor. Cursing whoever it was who had the audacity to wake him, he made his way to the front of his apartment, grumbling on the way about the lateness of the hour. He opened the door and was very surprised to see onyx orbs staring back at him.

"Can I come in?"

Not knowing quite what to say, the blonde stepped aside to let the raven into his apartment. Closing the door behind them, Naruto turned, wanting an explanation as why the Uchiha was at his door.

"I wanted to tell you something before I leave for a while, and I need you to let me tell you everything before you say anything. I don't have a lot of time. I've never told anybody what I'm about to tell you, well besides Itachi, but I need to know that you will keep this to yourself. If I find out that you told anybody, I swear to God that I will find you and kill you slowly."

After seeing the blond fox nod his head, the raven haired boy continue.

"I'm not interested in girls. I've never been and I never will. I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm gay."

There was a moment of silence before Naruto could say anything, which made him a bit nervous. It wasn't like the Dobe to become quiet for any length of time.

"I'll admit that took me totally by surprise but then again, it totally explains why you turn down Sakura-chan every time she tried to flirt with you. I have one question though? It's cool and all that you trust me enough to tell me something that you've only told your older brother, but I'm a little confused why you're telling me all this. I mean-"

As he started to talk, he became aware of Sasuke approaching him slowly until they were only a few inches apart. Nervously, the blonde took a step back. He looked up at the approaching raven with wary eyes when the blonde felt his back hit the wall; he was trapped.

"Maybe, I'm telling you this… because I… Think I have some feelings for you." The Uchiha descended upon the blonde Jinchuuriki with every part until their lips meshed together in a kiss.

Naruto stood motionless for a few moments before he started to kiss back, groaning when he felt a tongue swiping across his lower lip, asking for entrance, which he happily gave. The tongues met halfway in a battle for dominance, which Sasuke won. As soon as they broke apart, needing air, reality came back to Naruto and he pushed the raven away from him.

"Oi teme! Who said you could go around kissing me?" the blonde hissed between clenched teeth, while trying to fight down the heat that was threatening to consume his face. "Just because you're gay, doesn't mean I'll instantly let you jump down my pants!"

This new information only served to intensify the fire of hope that was consuming the raven's stomach. The possibility that he could at least check one thing off of his inevitable long list of regrets if he died after taking his brother out, because dammit he was definitely killing Itachi before he left this Earth. "So, you admit that you like boys?"

Looking into twin pools of obsidian, the blonde nodded the affirmative.

"Kit, let go and just let him have you for one night. It'll be a while before you see him again."

Sighing Naruto looked up at the Uchiha and hoped that he wouldn't live to regret it. "One night. That's all I'm giving you, Sasuke." The young kitsune took a deep breath before he exhaled and giving himself over to the burning desire to touch and be touched by the one person that every female in Konoha would kill to be with.

The raven haired took this as a confirmation to dive back in for another kiss and this time, he met the eager mouth of the blonde fox. As he plunged his tongue into the heated cavern that Naruto's mouth, he reveled in the whimper that escaped from the body underneath him. He'd could get used to the addictive taste that was strictly Naruto's; it was amazing.

As they both came up for air, Naruto could feel the raven's hands sneaking under his pajama shirt, before it came off all together, exposing toned and tanned abs to the Uchiha's raven eyes. He had seen the blonde's chest many times during training.

'Even so, I can never get enough of it' the Uchiha thought as he brought his lips to a pert nipple and licked it, earning a whine from the blonde as Sasuke's teeth lightly grazed its twin before making a trail of kisses from the blonde's and stopping right above his belly button before coming back up for another searing kiss before getting off of the blonde all together. Looking up in confusion, Naruto blushed when he saw that Uchiha was stripping down to his boxers and that when it clicked for the blonde.

Is this what he wanted? It only took a minute to decide the answer that question. Hell yes!

With that, Naruto made quick work of his pants, and to Sasuke's surprise, his boxers quickly followed.

"Eager, aren't we?" the raven chuckled as he took in the fox's rather impressive member. He was about to say something else when he felt a tug on his boxers. "Off."

Complying with Naruto's demands, he crouched down between the blonde's legs, taking the head of Naruto's erection into his mouth, which earned him a rather wonton moan from his fox.

Smirking, the raven took more of the blonde's length into his mouth, humming as he released the blonde only to lick his way from the base up to the tip. He nibbled his way back down the other side and took a lap at the blonde's ball sac, indulging himself in a taste that he knew he wouldn't be getting any time soon, if he ever got to experience this heavenly feeling again.

Naruto nudged him. "Lube's in my bedside table." Nodding, the Uchiha picked up the smaller blonde and carried them both into the bedroom and after laying Naruto down and retrieving the lube, the raven slathered up three fingers and slipped one inside the blonde, stilling however when Naruto winced.

"Careful bastard! I've never done this before," he hissed out through clenched teeth as pain shot through his body.

"Sorry. It's not like I've done this either, dumbass!"

As he said, he brought his other hand to the fox's cock, trying to distract him from the pain that was going through him. Naruto moaned at the feeling of the attention of the hand on his cock and didn't even notice when the raven slipped in another finger and began stretching him out.

By the time Sasuke had slipped in the third finger, Naruto was so hard that he thought that he might burst.

"Sasuke. Please fuck me!" came the wonton moan that spilled from his tanned lips and almost made the raven cum right on the spot. Not wanting to keep the fox waiting for long, he hastily lubed up his length and positioned himself between the fox's legs. He took a deep breath before he started to push into the blonde, momentarily stopping when he heard the fox's whimper of pain.

"Please keep moving, Sasuke." And so he complied, pushing all the way until he was buried to the hilt. Taking in a ragged breath, the raven started to move, starting out at a languidly slow pace, as he did not want to hurt the blonde. That pace gradually increased until there was only the sound of groaning, moaning, and the sound of skin slapping against moist skin.

All too soon, Naruto cried out his climax, shouting out Sasuke's name as he spiraled into the heavens. Sasuke immediately followed him to that place and they collapsed in a heap of tangled limbs.

After he pulled out, Naruto cuddled up next to Sasuke as the moonlight filtered in through his window and the fox couldn't help but admire the very much naked Uchiha who had his eyes closed at the moment and think what could have been.

"Stop staring, dobe."

Startled that he was caught, the blonde fox averted his eyes grumbling as the raven stretched in his bed.

"I know you have to leave tonight, but tell me why, Sasuke?"

Sighing, the raven sat back down on the edge of the orange comforter that adorned the blonde's full sized bed. "I'm leaving because I need to avenge my clan. The night Itachi left me, he told me the only reason that he kept me alive is because he wanted to die by another Uchiha's hands to atone for what he did to our parents and all the others. I'm no stronger than when he left me that night; he proved that much to me in that hotel hallway, so I'm leaving for a little while to get stronger. I can't move on with my future until I deal with the demon of my past."

Naruto knew that this was true, but he couldn't help but be emotional and yet he didn't know why he was now crying. Part of him wanted to blame the fox for the hormones, but he knew that part of the reason was that Sasuke grown on him and damnit it hurt knowing that he didn't know if he was ever going to see him again.

As the young raven got up to put on his clothes, he noticed the silent tears that were cruising down tanned whiskered cheeks and stopped what he was doing.

"Perhaps I'm being just a little selfish, but I don't want you to leave me, Sasuke. I liked what we did and I want to do it-"

He was interrupted by a pair of pale lips crushing against his in a surprisingly tender kiss that was over a little too soon for Naruto's liking.

"Well, I wouldn't be opposed to that. Whenever our paths happen to cross during our journeys, we can sneak away from the others and get together."

A smile blossomed over the fox's face as he nodded profusely. "Seeing as you'll be gone in the morning, can you at least stay with me until I fall asleep? Or would that be too much to ask for?"

"Yeah, I think I can stay until you fall asleep."

And with that, the tired blonde put on his pajama pants and crawled underneath the comforter, wrapping his arms loosely around the raven nin, knowing that this would be the last he would see of Sasuke for a while.

Snuggling closer to the raven to enjoy his body warmth for the moment, the blond muttered, "I'm glad you came tonight, teme. I feel special that I'm one of the only ones who know your secret."

"Hn. It better stay a secret, dobe."

"'kay. G'night."

The last thing the blonde Jinchuuriki remembered before sinking into the world of dreams yet again was a gentle kiss on his lips and the bed shifting as the Uchiha got up and disappeared into the dead of the night.

Sitting on his bedside table was a note from the Uchiha that was waiting to be discovered by the blonde the next morning. It read: See you around, dobe. Stay alive until I can kill Itachi and come back to Konoha, and I won't feel bad for taking your virginity. Oh, and get stronger, 'cause I'll need a sparring partner on my level when I get back. Sasuke.
