Chapter One: The Race

It was a normal day. I was going to see Lightning McQueen race in the Piston Cup. I had heard all over the news about him being beat by Jackson Storm, The Rookie. My big brother, Jay, was helping me get ready for the race. "Kate, youre gonna look awesome after this paint job!" He says happily. "I hope so, or else you owe me 10 bucks," I tell him. Oh wait, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Kate, Kate Gormez. I'm 20, and I'm a nurse at the local hospital. I have my big brother, Jay, who is 30. I'm painted fully blue with yellow stripes. Jay finishes painting my sides. He painted 95 on each side. "Great job, you dont owe me money," I tell him. "Have fun at the race. Sorry I can't go, work stuff," he says. "It's ok, I totally understand," I reply. K eventually make it to the stadium. I take my seat, right at the front. "GO LIGHTNING!" I shout. He actually catches my eye at one point, and I gasp. Wow! He actually noticed me! I think in my head. But at the last few laps, Lightning isnt doing too well. He is falling behind. I see that he is screaming "NO! NO! NO!" and pushing his motor too hard. Then, then the sounds I will never forget. The sound of crashing and scraping. The sound of screaming. Oh shit! I gotta go help him! I think. I speed out onto the course. I assess the situation. "We need ambulances here right away! We need to Save Him!" I shout. I see Jackson Storm smirking and laughing. I rollup to him. "Oh, so you think Lightning crashing is funny eh?" I say in a sharp tone. "Haha yeah, now do me a favour and fuck off," He says, and his whole crew start laughing. I decide not to tolarate this. I attack Storm. "YOU CRAZY WOMAN!" He shouts. Suddenly I'm pulled off of him. I turn around. It's a tow truck. A silly looking one. "Woah, Miss, that is great fighting skills!" he says. "Thanks," I say. "What was all that about?" He asks. "I beat his ass for laughing at Lightning crashing. You know what they say, Talk shit get hit," I say. "True, true. Hey, I'm Mater by the way," He says. "I'm Kate, Kate Gormez," I say. We rush out to the track. "Will he be ok?" Mater asks. "He should be fine. But he will have to go to hospital and stay there for a while," I tell him.
